| Elarys was born to Lelliana and Giuliarn Amarank in the Sillesk system. Imperial loyalty was ingrained in her from a young age, and the more she learned, the more she understood her family's work and support. Ten years younger than her brother Giu, she wasn't close to him growing up, until she was a young teen as he came back to their home world with his wife Shana Ghemenaux. When Shana was widowed a few years later, both women grew closer, and Elarys considers Shana like the older sister she didn't have.
A brilliant student, she was part of the Sub-Adult group. By her early twenties, she had graduated with honors with a Master's in Education Sciences and Technology, with a minor in Liberal Arts. Thanks to her various scholarships, she interned at various Imperial universities and schools, providing her with experience beyond her home system and Imperial Center.
During her work as an event assistant for the Gelinera School, Elarys met Lady Lise Tarkin during a fundraiser. Much to her surprise, they remained in touch every once in a while. After her contract ended, Elarys took some brief time off to visit her family back in Sillesk, before returning to Imperial Center to work for Neran's, a small but growing charity organization affiliated with the Coalition for Progress, which focused on imperial museum apprenticeships.
