The second oldest of fifteen cubs, Taataani quickly asserted herself as a leader in her family, making higher marks in school than her siblings and petitioning her mother repeatedly for the most responsibilities before any of her sisters. It was no surprise then, when at age 60, Taataani was declared Rrou'fai by her mother, effectively giving her control of all family assets and legal stewardships. It was a heavy responsibility, even beyond family demands. The Meorrrei brand is known throughout the galaxy in many industries: from bio-medical to interstellar transit, to banking, tourism, data management, and many other subsidiaries.
Taataani's rise to prominence in House Meorrrei had its casualties. Her half sister Sasseeri Reeouurra, with no real prospects in Cizerack society due to her half-breed upbringing, was often put-upon and treated with a distant contempt. That the half breed eventually ran headlong into a life of crime was, to Taataani, not much of a surprise, and as the felinoid aristocrat became Rrou'fai, she knew that at some point, she'd have to deal with Sasseeri, and any potential blowback the half-breed might bring upon her house.
One of the first acts as Rrou'fai Meorrrei was to enter into a cooperative agreement with House Raurrssatta, an equally powerful Cizerack family that had traditionally been rivals with the Meorrreis. To seal their business cooperation, Taataani gave her son, Cirrsseeto Raurrssatta to the Raurrssatta Rrou'fai Iesshhaauurri, in marriage. Any notions of better business relations were soured by discoveries that her favorite son was a frequent target of scorn, verbal, and physical abuse. Seeing that her attempt at alliance was a mistake, she schemed to have Sanis Prent steal away from the Carshoulis Cluster with her son, and daughter Daanarri Meorrrei aboard an old Corellian YV-666 light freighter that she gave to the human as an exchange for the task. With Cirrsseeto gone, she could resume the old antagonistic relationship with House Raurrssatta, which was a task she plunged into with ruthlessness, eventually breaking the Rraurrssatta financial power base and sending the house into disrepute and decline.
In years after her son's "rescue", Taataani pursued a policy of aggressive business interests outside of the Pride. She secured charter flight businesses all along the Hydian Way, brokered a comprehensive investment plan for the planet of Onderon, and battled Corporate Sector Authority agents over the financial underwriting of Muunilinst, at the bequest of the Cizeri government. During this mission, she again crossed paths with Cirrsseeto and Daanarri, along with Sanis and the Jedi Master Loklorien s'Ilancy, whom she instantly became friends with. She also embarked on a full media campaign aimed at takeover campaigns of several industries on Corellia, intent on finding a foothold in the Core planet's lucrative markets. It was there she met a human named Kallum Romanoch, although he gave his name as "Val Tatvan" and initially swindled her out of over a hundred thousand credits.
Embarassed by the duplicity, Taataani sought to put things right, and put Kallum to work running an Orphanage called Little Cubs, on the understanding that he would work off the amount he'd stolen in exchange for Taataani not hauling a repeat offender off to the Corellian authorities, where Kallum would most certainly face plenty of jail time. Little did she know that, under the veneer of running an orphanage, Kallum ran a drugs lab in the building's basement.
The crowning achievement of Taataani's quest for influence was being invited to Miranda Tarkin's coronation as Empress of the Empire. Her invitation was engineered by befriending the executive of Sienar Fleet Systems, using his affections as a way into the proceedings. Although she did not have a chance to meet the Empress in person, she was given unfettered access to Imperial networking that she simply didn't have before. This, however, would cause some trouble later.
On a venture between the Carshoulis Cluster and Coruscant, Taataani's yacht was intercepted by the Rebel ship Knightfall. Initially believing they were under attack by pirates, Taataani surrendered herself to spare her manservants. Only when aboard the Knightfall did she realize the crew was a part of the Rebel Alliance, and Barton Henning believed she might be an Imperial agent they were tasked to apprehend. Only when she mentioned she was the mother of the Layla's mechanic, Cirrsseeto Raurrssatta, did the crew of Knightfall realize there was some kind of mistake, and upon her demands to see her son, she was brought to The Wheel.
Aboard the Wheel, she confronted her son on his choice to avoid a life of safe prosperity for one where he risked his life to fight the Empire. Angry and scared for him, she was reluctant to see his point of view until a good bit of convincing by him, Captain Henning, Lok s'Ilancy, and Lyanie Quez changed her position to reluctant cooperation.
