The Rath Cartel was created after the death of Tyber Zaan, when the remains of the Zann Consortium were subsumed into the corporate empire of by Rath Ouishii Dae. It now exists as a corporate and criminal organization engaging in both legitimate and illegal business within the Galactic Empire, the Alliance of Free Planets, and the currently independent sectors of the galaxy.

Ambassador Wrath has acquired a number of prominent corporations over the years, including Ghtroc Industries and Czerka Arms. Following the Treaty between the Alliance and Empire, Wrath was able to acquire Ubrikkian Industries - a former subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards now located on the opposite side of Alliance space to Kuat.

History

Galactic Civil War

Rath Ouishii Dae began his business career on Rodia, acquiring various corporations such as N'Gant-Zarvel and Rodian D-Tec. His profits were modest, but were sufficient for him to begin to leverage himself into a position of influence, contributing his resources to assist Tyber Zann in developing an illegal droid army for the Zann Consortium. Following Zann's death in 4 ABY, Rath seized control of what remained of the Consortium, consolidating it with his business holdings to become the Rath Cartel - borrowing the name from a criminal empire that existed around the time of the Great Galactic War. He used his resources to perform a literal hostile takeover of the Shell Hutt-controlled shipwright Ghtroc Industries, and spent the next several years acquiring struggling and foreclosed corporations to expand his business empire.

For much of his life, Rath had been somewhat on the outside of the Ouishii Kajidic - his Hutt family - but deaths and political machinations deposed the clan's former leaders, and allowed Rath to make a bid for power. Now with access to Ouishii bank accounts, he expanded his enterprise dramatically; and as his business began to involve larger scale dealings with governments and other political entities - and once his holdings expanded to include corporate-owned planets - he began to refer to himself as Ambassador Wrath.

After the Alliance-Imperial Treaty of 10 ABY, Ambassador Wrath managed to acquire two former subsidiaries of Kuat Drive Yards: the Outer Rim centric Ubrikkian Industries, and the Clone Wars era military contractor Rothana Heavy Engineering. Merging the latter into Czerka Arms as his "weapons division", he rearranged the rest of his corporations to become subsidiaries of Ubrikkian Industries, making that his primary corporate endeavour.

Hierarchy

Though Ambassador Wrath is addicted to control, he also has an acute understanding of the importance of delegation, and surrounds himself with a number of trusted Lieutenants who manage the various aspects and holdings of his corporate and criminal empire. The Besalisk Avar Adamas is his chief enforcer, while the Toydarian Tavi manages Wrath's personal finances and investments. Wrath also understands that most species are reluctant to have financial dealings with the Hutts - even if they are legitimate - and so employs individuals like Skylar Trezen and Victor Montegue to serve as more amiably-faced CEOs for his businesses.

Ubrikkian Industries

A corporation more than four millennia old, Ubrikkian Industries most recently existed as a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards, primarily catering to customers in the Outer Rim - particularly the Hutts. After the Alliance-Imperial Treaty of 10 ABY redrew several galactic borders, Kuat was entirely separated from that customer base and from Ubrikkian Industries' production facilities in the Outer Rim. Ambassador Wrath purchased the corporation, and adapted it into the new cornerstone of his business empire. Ubrikkian Industries is run on Rath's behalf by Skylar Trezen, a former KDY employee.

Kalibac Industries

A Geonosian construction and manufacturing firm, that became a holding company for the remnants of Baktoid Industries, Cestus Cybernetics, Gordarl Weaponsmiths, and other corporations who formed part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Kalibac Industries holds the patents to many Baktoid and Geonosian designs (though many are illegal to manufacture under current law), and also accounts for the Rath Cartel's construction contracts, and much of it's resource acquisition through mining, processing, salvage, etc. Kalibac Industries is run on Ambassador Wrath's behalf by it's Geonosian founder, Kalibac.

Czerka Arms

Another ancient institution, the Czerka Corporation fell on hard times over the last few millennia, falling from an industry-spanning corporation to a mere weapons manufacturer, Czerka Arms. The Rath Cartel has bolstered the corporation through the acquisition and incorporation of subsidiaries - including N'Gant-Zarvel, the Salus Corporation, Prax-Malaxan Firearms, Palandrix Personal Protection Gear, and Kelvarek-Dymex Consolidated - turning Czerka Arms into one of the industry's leading producers of exotic and unorthodox weapons (slughthrowers, electronic discharge weapons, bounty hunter ordnance, and the like). Czerka Arms also produces weapons systems for Ubrikkian Transports vehicles. The recent acquisition of Rothana Heavy Engineering has led Czerka Arms to pursue possible military contracts with the army of the Alliance of Free Planets. Czerka Arms is run on Rath's behalf by Victor Montegue, a former Imperial Sector Ranger.

The Defilers

Formerly the agents and enforcers of the Zann Consortium, the Defilers were one of the few remnants of the Consortium that Ambassador Wrath managed to secure control of. Rath uses his Defilers much less aggressively, seeing them as more of a personal guard, private security force, and as enforcers - particularly when clients are tardy repaying their debts. Many of Rath's holdings and corporations will have members of the Defiler's on staff, managing security and keeping watch over his holdings. Currently, Wrath's chosen leader of the Defilers is Avar Adamas, a former Separatist Colonel.

Trest

One of Cloud City's famous casinos, Trest was recently purchased by Ambassador Wrath to serve as a hub and base of operations for his enterprises in the Greater Javin. Trest is one of the most non-human friendly casinos on Cloud City, and embraces that reputation by offering an assortment or exotic drinks, foods, music, and dancers. The casino features a number of private function rooms, including the Ecclessis Figg Room: ostensibly a hall for private sabacc tournaments, though under Wrath's ownership it is used extensively for private business meetings and underworld gatherings as well.
