The Ubrikkian Industries corporation is currently one of the largest independent suppliers of droids, speeders, and transports in the Outer Rim.
A subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards until recently, it is now owned by Ambassador Wrath of the Ouishii Kajidic and the Rath Cartel. It serves as an umbrella corporation for many of his business holdings, particularly those catering to civilian markets and to the Galactic Empire. It caters to a variety of industries, from freighters and custom yachts (Ghtroc Industries, Huppla Pasa Tisc) to droids and repulsorcraft (Ubrikkian Steamworks, Ubrikkian Repulsorlift Manufacturing), and an assortment of adjacent technologies and industries.
History
In one form or another, Ubrikkian Industries has existed for more than four thousand years. During the Great Galactic War, the Ubrikkian Transports corporation was a popular manufacturer of personal repulsorcraft and transports, while Ubrikkian Steamworks had manufactured Devastator War Droids during the Old Sith Wars.
By the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War it been acquired by Kuat Drive Yards and had expanded dramatically, with Ubrikkian Industries serving as an umbrella corporation for several businesses catering to Outer Rim markets. Ubrikkian Transports continued to operate as a manufacturer of freighters produced at Ubrikkian Yards on Ubrikkia, while the Ubrikkian Private Shipwrights on Tatooine produced custom transports and sail barges for the civilian market, and Ubrikkian Repulsorlift Manufacturing continued to produce rugged and durable speeders, skiffs, and repulsortrucks.
After the Alliance-Imperial Treaty of 10 ABY, much of the Outer Rim became inaccessible to the Empire-loyal corporations in the Core, and Kuat Drive Yards lost interest in most of Ubrikkian Industries' market. The corporation was acquired along with Rothana Heavy Engineering and Uulshos Manufacturing by Ambassador Wrath of the Ouishii Kajidic, who immediately merged the company with his other corporate holdings. Ubrikkian Transports was augmented by Ghtroc Industries, Huppla Pasa Tisc, and TransGalMeg Industries; while Ubrikkian Steamworks merged with Kalibac Industries, absorbing smaller droid manufacturers like Cestus Cybernetics, LesTech, Rodian D-Tec, and Baktoid Industrial Systems in the process. Other holdings meanwhile were merged another Rath-holding, Czerka Arms, with a significant overlap between the production catalogues of both companies. Broadly speaking, Rath's holdings were structured so that Ubrikkian Industries catered to civilian and Imperial markets, while Czerka Arms catered to military and Alliance clients.
