Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei is a starfighter manufacturer formed in 10 ABY from the merger of Koensayr Manufacturing, the rogue Incom designers of FreiTek Incorporated, and the corporate holdings of Senator Taataani Meorrrei.
As per the terms of the Alliance-Imperial Treaty, any corporations with ties to the new Alliance of Free Planets were required to relinquish their holdings within Imperial space, in exchange for financial compensation. This included the manufacturing facilities on Koensayr, which left Senator Meorrrei with liquid capital, but without an adequate facility to construct ships. Approaching the FreiTek design team who had defected to the Rebel Alliance with the stolen designs for the X-Wing and become part of Alliance Underground Engineering, Meorrrei arranged to buy out the engineers and merge their production and development efforts into Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei.
The transition from rebellion to legitimate government vastly changed the requirements of the Alliance Starfighter Corps. Working with Admiral Vansen Tyree, Meorrrei and chief designer Merrin Altink devised a shortlist of the Alliance's new requirements, and set about developing a new series of starfighters designed specifically to cater to those needs. In addition to starfighter production, Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei produces a number of other associated products, from avionics and ejector seats to life support units and starfighter helmets.

V-Wing Airspeeder
The first new design was the BTL-A6 V-Wing airspeeder, to replace the ailing Incom T-47 that the Alliance had famously used in the defense of Echo Base on Hoth. Intended to be a fast and agile ground attack vehicle, the V-Wing drew on design elements from the Koensayr Y-Wing, and so was considered a successor to the BTL family of Koensayr designs. Though not equipped as a bomber, the V-Wing was capable of delivering ground-targeting missile ordnance, and was able to use ground-following repulsorlifts to achieve a lower and faster flight path than a Y-Wing could typically achieve.
Though fully pressurised, and capable of flying at higher altitudes than the T-47, the V-Wing was not designed for spaceflight. Instead, the craft was intended to deploy either from ground facilities, or directly from Alliance starships into the upper atmosphere. To extend the range of the V-Wing, Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei developed a modified version of the X4 Gunship to serve as an orbit-to-atmosphere courier, carrying a V-Wing mounted beneath each wing. While this mission profile is ideal for ground attack missions by the Alliance Defense Forces, it does limit the V-Wing's viability as a planetary defense fighter.
E-Wing Escort Fighter
A difficult fighter for Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei designers to "get right", the BTL-E7 E-Wing was a fighter that the Alliance Starfighter Corps wanted to be capable of almost everything. It needed to be small and compact to fit aboard the Alliance's patrol cruisers; fast enough to compete with the A-Wing as an interceptor; good enough at space superiority to act as an escort to the K-Wing; and able to deploy through hyperspace from one border outpost to another, but without the need for an astromech, which Imperial trade sanctions had made difficult to obtain. Merrin Altink thought the parameters so diverse that he nicknamed the fighter the Everything-Wing, a name that eventually morphed into its official designation.
Despite the obstacles to its development, the E-Wing eventually entered service in 11 ABY. E-Wings are often seen deployed by Alliance Security for interdiction patrols, or deployed as escorts alongside K-Wing squadrons.
K-Wing Assault Fighter
Designed as the ultimate Alliance weapons platform, the BTL-S8 K-Wing is as much a successor to the LAAT/i Gunships and ARC-170 Starfighters of the Clone Wars as it is to its Y-Wing ancestors. Equipped with two gunners for point defense, and enough weapons systems to require a bombardier independent of the pilot, the K-Wing was designed to function as well in-atmosphere as it did out of it. While not as agile as the competing B-Wing from Slayn & Korpil, the K-Wing embraced the Y-Wing's reputation for endurance and survivability, and also boasted a trio of powerful ion engines that kept the assault fighter competitively fast. The K-Wing's modular hardpoints allowed it to be configured for ground attack missions in support of the V-Wing, or for direct assaults against enemy starships.
Unfortunately the K-Wing's large size and considerable expense was a limiting factor, with the Alliance Starfighter Corps initially choosing to deploy K-Wings individually or as part of mixed squadrons, rather than as full K-Wing Squadrons.
A-Wing II Assault Interceptor
The original RZ-1 A-Wing Interceptor was developed by Kuat Systems Engineering during the early years of the Galactic Empire, and became a mainstay of the early Rebellion. With so many of the fighters finding their way into Rebel hands however, Kuat Drive Yards was pressured into preventing the subsidiary from manufacturing the craft, in the hopes of choking off the Rebellion's access. Instead, Alliance Underground Engineering began manufacturing new fighters on an individual basis, working from the A-Wing's general specifications but customised to suit the materials available. Following the Treaty however, the Alliance of Free Planets was forced to terminate its illegal construction of RZ-1 A-Wings. A loophole was found, with Alliance-loyal manufacturers developing their own revised production models of the A-Wing, substituting out proprietary KSE features for alternatives: leading to the RZ-1A A-Wing from Slayn & Korpil, and the RZ-1H or "A-Wing Heavy" from the SoroSuub Corporation.
Alliance Underground Engineering was never entirely happy with either of the options, and when the group merged into Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei, developing their own A-Wing became a priority. The result was the RZ-I/A9 A-Wing II, designed not to replicate the A-Wing that the Rebellion had been so fond of, but to improve upon it. With the E-Wing already providing the IKM catalogue with an escort interceptor, the designers focused on creating a fast attack "assault interceptor" that could serve as a compact alternative to the X-Wing on vessels with a limited small craft capacity. The A-Wing II was lighter, sleeker, and almost two meters shorter, with a narrower profile and a vastly improved thrust-to-weight ratio. The new A-Wing was fast and dangerous, but also expensive, ultimately leading it to be reserved for more elite A-Wing units.
In 11 ABY, Valkyrie Squadron pilots from the Alliance Frigate Novgorod assisted in the testing of A-Wing II prototypes. As of 12 ABY, the A-Wing II was in active service with the Valkyries.
X-Wing Space Superiority Fighter
Since the initial designs were stolen by the FreiTek engineers, several iterations of X-Wing served in the Alliance Starfighter Corps, each one improving speed, handling, and defensive capabilities. At the time Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei was formed, the latest model was the T-65C X-Wing: one developed to match the capabilities of the newest models of Imperial TIE Defender. The X-Wing's predecessor designs were slowly in the process of being phased out and replace, with some being refit as the T-65BR Reconnaissance Fighter.
The Alliance-Imperial Treaty vastly reduced the Alliance's need for a space superiority fighter, and Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei hoped that the E-Wing would meet many of the Alliance's needs without a new X-Wing needing to be developed. Their reluctance was due to two factors: inherent limitations in the X-Wing spaceframe, and trade sanctions against the Alliance that made new astromech droids extremely difficult to acquire. The Alliance Starfighter Corps felt it important that the Alliance have a cutting-edge superiority fighter to ensure that they were "still in the game" should renewed hostilities with the Empire break out, and so research and development on a next-generation X-Wing began in earnest.
As of 12 ABY, the T-65.X10 X-Wing is still a long way from being operational, with Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei dedicating much of its resources to rush the E-Wing into service as an interim solution. A re-engineered spaceframe has been completed, but developing a nav computer with the same sophistication as an Industrial Automaton astromech is causing delays.
