A holding company, Baktoid Industries was the umbrella corporation that united the vast majority of the production of battle droids and droid fighters for the Trade Federation, Techno Union, and Confederacy of Independent Systems before and during the Clone Wars. Baktoid Industries itself did not directly operate any production facilities, instead acting as the licenser and distributor of Baktoid's products. The majority of vehicular construction was handled by Baktoid Armor Workshop; most battle droids were manufactured by Baktoid Combat Automata; and Baktoid Fleet Ordnance focused on providing starship support and integration.
Following the Clone Wars, both Baktoid Combat Automata and Baktoid Fleet Ordnance were dissolved by the Galactic Empire, though Baktoid Industries was permitted to continue operating Baktoid Armor Workshop as a strictly non-military manufacturer of repulsorlift vehicles. Those two companies were eventually acquired by the Ouishii Kajidic, primarily to gain access to Baktoid Industries' patents and designs; several Baktoid Armor Workshop vehicles entered production with Ubrikkian Industries and Rothana Heavy Engineering.
