The character of Nya Halcyon was created by Mara in late 2000. Originally she went by the name of Delirion, which was a name supposedly given to her in her youth. It would always stay with her, even after adopting her given name as a sign of distancing herself from her past. Because of the reset, there are two differing versions of her character:

Pre-Reset Nya Halcyon was a Darksider with conflicting intentions, no loyalties and a messy past - as well as an impressive amount of delusions.

Post-Reset Nya Halcyon was a survivor of the Purge only through the aid of a renegade clone commando sent to her by her father upon his death. During her youth she saw too much blood-shed, experienced too much turmoil to stay entirely untouched by it, and so her path led her inevitably down the dark side.

Her father's last command

For Jedi to marry and bear children is against the code, yet Fionn Halcyon and Berit Selki (not unlike other Corellian Jedi) defy the code, get married and conceive a child, all without the knowledge of the Jedi Council on far Coruscant. Little Nya grows up in the relatively "safe" community of Corellian Jedi of whom many have a history of defying Jedi regulations, with both her parents as her teachers.

Fionn Halcyon
Nya is 5 years old when her world tumbles out of control - her parents are two of many Jedi who follow the Jedi beacon back to Coruscant, and they leave her behind in the care of a close friend. But her parents never return from that journey, as they are struck down mercilessly by a group of clones in disguise while penetrating the still burning ruins of the Jedi temple.

Her father's last deed as a Jedi, however, was implanting the need to rescue and keep his daughter safe into the clone commando who towered over him, readying a last strike. The commando, already terribly conflicted over his orders and trying to come to terms with what he has become, strikes him down and kills him, but Fionn Halcyon's last command gives his tortured soul the necessary fuel to overcome his initial inbred loyalty to his superiors. Taking up the lightsaber of his last opponent, he strikes down the rest of the clone squad and escapes.

Days later, young Nya finds herself snatched from her comfortable bed by a creature dressed entirely in black, and to her unfiltering mind the flood of emotions coming from the murderer - for such he is, Nya is sure - is so overpowering that she can't even find the chance to alert her guardian. The commando takes her on board of a ship, and then far far away.

Skills & Abilities
  • Able to absorb large amounts of Force energy, and out of necessity learned to draw even the minutest amount of this energy out of her surroundings
  • Trained as an actress, able to augment her speech with the Force and thereby gain advantage over others - she rarely used this, however, as she considered it "child's play"
  • Able to influence others' visual senses by overlaying them with her own - useful for throwing of her enemies in an attack by forcing them to act and react to her liking
  • A natural talent for languages, able to understand the meaning of conversations in foreign languages through her Force-gift, and even able to understand some birds and beasts
  • In earlier years unable to move even a pebble through the Force unless "charged" with absorbed Force Energy, she learned to overcome this by drawing on the smallest source of such energy available
  • Found she had a rare talent: the Force Scream - if used during a fight it will throw anyone nearby into a near-catatonic state, thus effectively disarming them. Unfortunately this would also affect her severely and render her unconscious for a short time, thereby negating any advantage she might have

Before the Reset
Nya2.jpg
"Delirion always had been taken in by distractions. Sometimes, Hob wondered if she was less physical and more hauntingly spiritual than even she guessed. Certainly, she appeared that way- empty and sighing in her own deluded darknesses."
Evil Hobgoblin

The character as such was an oddity, seemingly more ethereal at times than a substantial human being, always more inclined to listen to her own self-delusions than to believe in what is truly happening around her. Nya never acknowledged others' authority well, and was a severe loner - her skills and imperfections made it necessary to her not to seek training from others - instead she learned everything she could by trial-and-error, which had not been an easy path but at least, after years, a successful one. Were she to stand against another Force User on one of her better days, she would have been a match for a Sith Lord - or Jedi Master.

Discovering the Force
As a young girl, Nya finds out her parents are not the simple space traders from their homeworld of Corellia, but two of the Jedi that survived the Jedi Purge at the end of the Clone Wars. She is drawn to seek out someone whom she believes can teach her more and finds the nefarious Dark Jedi Adalric Brandl, an actor whose warped mind drives him to get the girl to betray her parents to him.

Unwittingly she seals her fate by accidentally killing her own parents in the process - an act which Brandl/Belarq sees this as her initiation to her “apprenticeship” with him. Under his tutelage she learns much about the Force and even more about the Dark Side of it, remaining, however, a mediocre student when it comes to using any of its power. One day she manages to get away from him by denunciating him to the Emperor’s Jedi Hunters, and witnesses him being murdered in cold blood.

Character traits
Nya was weak, rotting from the inside out, feeding her own inability to take control of her life with delusions, and only slowly coming to terms with herself. She is fighting for control over her own mind against the spirit possessing her, and when she is finally free of it, she's at the brink of death.
Dark Jedi
Out in the Galaxy, she quickly learns of others like her and seeks to join the Sith Order. During a training session she assaults her new master and gets thrown out again - it becomes apparent that the spirit of Adalric Brandl manifested itself in her mind and is now trying to destroy her. Forced out on her own, she retreats to Bast Castle on Vjun and is more or less run over by a group of Dark Jedi who want to take over the castle as their headquarter. She joins them and they create the cult of the Black Hand, a thorn in the eye of both Sith and Jedi. In the months to follow, Nya learns to live with both her resident evil spirit and her growing skills and power over the Force, training herself and eventually finding the means to rid herself of Adalric’s spirit and becoming a more formidable Dark Jedi.
Random Facts
Out of Character

The person behind Nya Halcyon is called Mara and she is from Germany. All the way back in 2000 she got drawn into the roleplaying world of the then ezboard SWFans after following a "raging spammer" called GrandAdmiralThrawn who recruited her as Imperial Intelligence Director Isard. First running Imperial Intelligence (ImpIntel), she went on to create a plethora of characters of various affiliations, Nya Halcyon a.k.a. Delirion being her most notable character.

Together with Darth Rane and Jeseth Cloak she was responsible for creating and running the Dark Jedi group The Black Hand. Aided and abetted by Sanis Prent she developed the character of Sasseeri Reeouurra and helped lay the foundation to the Cizerack species.

She left the roleplaying world in early 2002, and didn't come back until January 2008. Since then she's created another group, the Black Bloods Pirates.

Mara is divorced, and has a daughter who was born in 2002. She likes tinkering around with her PC at home, works as a Content Manager and various other things for a temp agency, and has about a million and one interests that keep her busy. Currently she is obsessed about Clone commandos and is on her way to fluency in Mando'a.
