Department of the Galactic Judiciary
History
The Judiciary Department has been in existence, in one incarnation or another since the Alsakan conflicts and has served the Galaxy by defending and upholding the statutes of Law. Its history is one of adapting to the current ruling powers, while striving to maintain its own integrity of office and performance thereof. The periods of the Ruusan Reformation and, later, the Empire under the rule of Palpatine, the Judiciary saw it's power and influence change with the ebb and flow of political fortune. (See reference section).
Relationship With The Empire
Since the rise of the Imperials and their domination throughout the galaxy, the Judiciary has lost much of its desire to assert itself for fear of retribution and reprisement. They have remained silent while the audacity and power of the Empire and its Inquisitoriate steamrolled its iron will upon the masses.
But, the times are changing. There is a new Empress upon the throne, and some recognise the possibility that new voices may be heard, and, perhaps, heeded.
Order of Solomon
The Judiciary is made up of many subdivisions, broken down by Sectors and these sectors are overseen by Co-ordinators or Sector Chiefs, whose main focus is to see that intergalactic law is enforced. Their jurisdiction reaches over their particular quadrants of the galaxy and, in part, provide a bridge for the many different societies to bring their claims and grievences to.
One of these Sector Co-ordinators is Eliessa Corta Chief of the Coruscant Sector in the Core Worlds, one of the largest of the Sector Divisions. It is Judge Corta who's desire for change within the Empire prompted her to found the Order of Solomon.
Until recently, the Order's primary target was the apprehension and prosecution of high profile smugglers, pirates and white collar criminals that operate behind the guise of civilised business organizations. However, their interest has extended now to investigating the upper echelons of Imperial and Non-Imperial power and politics. The Order is not military, but yet is answerable to it and so the balance to conduct an unmolested investigation is a tenuous one.
Corta, along with other likeminded Co-ordinators, formed the Order to challenge the status quo and restore some semblence of accountability to those in power - those, whose actions and dictates contravined and violated the citizens of the galaxy. The recent removal of a number of Moffs - dissenters and opponents of the new Empress Miranda Tarkin has prompted this new effort and Judge Corta has sought assistance for information through Inquisitor Rossos Atrapes, but to no avail. (Appointment with Atrapes)
The OOS Fleet
The Judicary fleet is made up of Capital ships, Cruisers, Star fighters and support craft. It has its own dedicated forces and several Training Academies and Fascilities spread out over several Galactic Sectors.

The Judge
- "The ascendence of a new Empress had brought with it a great hope by many of us for change, yet it is apparent that those who serve Miranda Tarkin in the highest realms are determined to hold onto the old tyrannical and elitist archetypes"
- ―Judge Corta to Inquisitor Atrapes
Eliessa Corta is forthright, to a fault. She is intelligent, opinionated and committed in her quest for the Law to have its rightful place within the Empire.
Her campaign is personal in its pursuance and fueled by her belief that, while there are authorities above the law, all should be subject to it.
She is a very public figure, yet keeps her private life to herself. It is not a hidden fact, but it is little known nevertheless that she has a daughter - rumoured to be a Sith and Master of the Darkside, whom she has been estranged from for at least ten years. Her husband died in the clan wars of Kwaylon.
Her nickname among her Judicial peers is "The Hangman".
