First manservant of the house, or vaguely "father of the family". The senior-most manservant tasked with keeping care of domestic issues, or perhaps just the male who curries the most favor from his mistress.

Name for lesser manservants of a household.

Brother. This is used either in the literal sense or a term of deep comraderie.

• A'ziir Traai'jaari

Cizeri martial art, translating to Open Hand Style. A fighting style defined by claw strikes and submission holds

• bayyossa tree

A temperate, deciduous species indigenous to Carshoulis Prime. Their curving branches are home to many small prey species and make excellent climbing for young cubs. Bayyossas are popular in landscaping and have been transplanted to most of the other worlds in the Cluster.

• Calan

A peaceful world just beyond the borders of the Carshoulis Cluster, Calan is inhabited sparsely by humans, most of them belonging to the monastery of Calanic monks

• clawhopper

A large (up to twenty centimeters) locust-like insect that makes droning sounds at night. Found throughout the Cluster, they're also good eating.

• Cha'kaatra'rrou

Quartermistress; the post of chief navigator aboard naval vessels. The quartermistress is typically third in seniority to the captain.

• Corr'rreesasso'rroussee'ssiborri'meerror'

The standard male servant's greeting for a female, untranslatable

• Feessarro-class

Star Destroyer - The apex of military cooperation between the Imperial separatists of the new Confederacy and the Cizerack Pride, the Feessarro Star Destroyer features gravity well projection technology as well as Gorroka particle cannons. Only a handful are combat-ready, and these are assigned priority flotilla command duties.

• Fey'dann

Called the breadbasket of the Pride, Fey'dann is a planet deep inside the Cluster, covered with expansive plantations, small villages, and enormous grass plains

• Forrda

Can mean any of the following: Prey, food, lower species; may include humans, depending on the speaker's relationship to said human(s)

• Gai'chee

A "fling", or casual sex partner, not the same as a manservant.

• Gai'forrda'ro

A non-Cizerack sexual partner (derogatory)

• Gai'seetalo

Translates to "little shrub"; referring to a young male, usually teenage (derogatory)

• Gai'tou

A lover. Someone more serious than a fling but perhaps not a spouse.

• gorroka particle cannon

A heavy isotope enriched cannon, similar to ion cannons but with a more aggressive energy structure. A gorroka will destroy shielding and electronics, but saturated energy against unshielded targets is dangerous to life forms because of lethal levels of radiation

A wealthy district on Carshoulis Prime, known for scenic vistas, rolling hills, and groves of manicured bayyossa trees.

• Jaanni'saari

Pride Marines. The core of the Cizerack Trade Forces infantry, forming an army of just over two billion troops. Each Jaanni'saar is bound by matrimony to the Pride Mother and receives her kaa'rri. Often, house matriarchs will offer sons into the Jaanni'saari out of civic duty and also to receive preferential tax exemptions. The marines are trained in infantry tactics and in ship-to-ship combat, but also receive training to serve in civil postings during peace time. In that capacity, they often provide manual labor for engineering projects or other missions. The Jaanni'saari males also provide an informal role of hospitality, often servicing their female officers when away on mission. The Jaanni'saari legions are commanded by a small cadre of female officer specialists who issue orders. In addition, specialist brigades of female Jaanni'saari are assigned to special training and duties, such as commanding armor, directing artillery, or commando duty.

• Jeeta

Herbal drug colloquially known to non-Cizerack as "Hopweed". Mild euphoric, usually either chewed, or dried and smoked. Sometimes known as "Catnip", but this is a misnomer sure to be corrected by any Cizerack.

• Jurru'grathi

Popular full-contact field sport involving rudimentary wrestling, carrying a ball past a scrum and into an opposing team's goal. Usually played by males, but the occasional female league exists. Professional male players play via contracts negotiated by their mistresses.

• Jurru'tai'laa

Large athletics arena on Carshoulis Prime. Primarily hosts Jurru'grathi matches, but is also known to hold A'ziir Traai'jaari prize bouts.

K

• Kaa'rri

Marriage bond worn by males to display their union to a female. Usually a simple gold or silver necklace with a small pendant showing the glyph of Saanjarra's marriage sacrament, with the name of the mistress who gave it embossed on the back. Though society weddings tend to involve some planning and ceremony, a Cizeri union is legally bound once the kaa'rri is placed around the man's neck. Thus, a male of lesser importance might be wed to a mistress simply by the offering and receiving of the kaa'rri. The necklace is worn outside of garments, plainly visible to identify the male as a chosen mate.

• Keerta-class

Assault Fighter - essentially a marriage of heavy fighter and assault ship roles. Designed for limited transport and scouting ability, but primarily for capital starship assaults. The traditional mainstay of the Cizerack fighter corps.

• K'ohta'rrou

A Commander in the Cizerack Trade Navy. The executive officer of a starship, second only to the Captain.

• Korri-class

A class of Cizerack battlecruiser, equivalent in size and speed to the Victory class Star Destroyer, though somewhat less in firepower. The Pride Navy's ship of the line. Deep space survivable, long-ranged, hyperdrive-capable, and designed for extended duty outside of the Cluster. Primarily tasked with enforcing trade lane security on the Hydian Way and transporting important cargo, it is also a capable warship, able to engage enemies up to and including Star Destroyer class ships. Offensive firepower is poised around two gorroka particle cannons, two dozen turbolasers, as well as many tractor beam emitters, and an excellent shield generator. It also has the ability to dispatch up to a division of Hunter Forces shock troops via space combat or surface attack.

• Krii'aachee tea

A form of tea flavored with oil from the liver of the aachee bass. When it is made with preserved oil rather than fresh oil, its characteristic pungency is diminished. Even Cizerack consider it to be an acquired taste.

• Kuu'ai

An exclamation of general approval, akin to "cool" or "awesome". Typically said by young people.

• leekta

Verb meaning to raise one's ears. When used as an interjection, may mean "Pay attention!" or, in the case of pinned ears, "Don't give me that attitude!"

• Lucrehulk-class

Lucrehulks are modular capital ships, popular among the Trade Federation and the first Confederacy of Independent Systems. From the Cizerack Pride's original participation in the Confederacy, Lucrehulks made up some portion of their naval force. Modified to suit the purposes of the Cizerack navy, these ships show their age, and are primarily assigned to support roles, although some still serve as rear-guard warships.

Cizerack of lighter skin tone. Implies impure ancestry (derogatory)

• Naala'in

Cizerack of darker skin tone. Usually used to denote someone who is a "country bumpkin" or poor (derogatory)

• nala tree frog

A small, colorful frog endemic to the Cluster. Though poisonous in the wild, they have been selectively bred in captivity to remove the venom glands so they can serve as live, colorful snacks.

Assault Shuttle - A dedicated assault shuttle generally deployed from galleons or other capital ships, explicitly for forcible boarding of enemy ships. Where the Keerta Assault Fighter is a flexible-purpose craft, the Neeraathi is designed specifically to insert Hunter Forces shock troopers.

Derogatory term for a male acting pompous or above his station.

Literally "Black Tail"; a term for a disreputable or disgraced family member (derogatory)

• Raiffa

An un-spiced, barrel-aged blood wine, noted for its higher alcohol content and more earthy flavors than Pai Leeha. Served warm in a goblet.

• Rai'raa

Head of the house; means "mother of the family". Controls financial assets and other house members male and female. The most powerful status in a Cizerack household.

A lady of the Royal Court, typically taken in at a young age to act as a page, and to help facilitate the functions within the court. It is an educational and prestige posting, sought by many wealthy families for their daughters.

• rrou kosa

An emphatic expletive, often used to denote shock or disgust. Compare "holy shit!"

• rrou-rrou

1) burning, 2) used as a swearword, as in "what a rrou-rrou shame!"

Interdictor - Light attack gunships without hyperdrive, crew complement of a dozen souls. Primarily used for intra-cluster defense, this light capital ship is equipped with a relatively fast sublight drive, good anti-starfighter weapons, and enough heavy weapons to effectively harass capital ships. Often used to attack in force, thus making them a flexible deterrent.

• Seeva'fei (Seeva II) class

A variation on the original Seeva design that trades some sublight capability for a long range hyperdrive and deep space capability. Designed to picket Korri Galleons and other larger capital ships.

• Sha'shaa

Captain, whether in the Jaanni'saari or the Trade Navy. A Jaanni'saar Suun'da'rrou typically leads a company-sized troop. A Naval Suun'da'rrou is typically posted to a ship of the line, such as a Galleon.

Wing Commander. Typically oversees all fighter squadron deployments on a capital ship or base, but can also be the rank held by the squadron lead of a ship's veteran first squadron.

• Taithaa-class

Interceptor - a next-generation marriage of Cizeri and Imperial technologies, combining Imperial shock doctrine of fast, maneuverable, light fighters to the Cizerack penchant of robust shielding and survivable ships.

• Taithaa'fei-class (Taithaa II, alternatively)

Interceptor - Variant on the Taithaa design, given better armament, better sensors, and a modular hyperdrive option

Translated to "Wholeness of body and mind", it is a Cizeri recreational activity involving meditation, breathing exercises, stretching and pose, and painting. It is supposed to be fulfilling and therapeutic, allowing one to let go of their preoccupations and worries. Through decisive strokes of paint matched to body pose and motion, one is supposed to paint until the image takes on meaning for them. It is considered bad form for an observer to ask about the image, much less to make a guess to it's meaning before it is finished.
