Design

The MC45-class was designed to replace the aging MC40-class. Better weapons, shielding, engines and armor make the MC45-class give the MC45-class better ship to ship power. The weapons of the MC45-class are larger and more powerful than its predecessor. Weapons load out consists of twenty batteries of five fire linked turbolaser cannons.

History

research for the MC45-class began shortly after the battle of Endor. The battle tested MC40-class had proven itself in battle time and time again and with the war dragging on a new more powerful version of the ship was needed. The first of the class entered service just after the battle of Sullust and three vessels of the MC45-class were present at Duro as the Alliance liberated the world. Fifteen Ion Cannons assist the turbolasers in ship to ship battle by disabling the ships shields and systems.
