Design
The MC45-class was designed to replace the aging MC40-class. Better weapons, shielding, engines and armor make the MC45-class give the MC45-class better ship to ship power. The weapons of the MC45-class are larger and more powerful than its predecessor. Weapons load out consists of twenty batteries of five fire linked turbolaser cannons.
History
Research for the MC45-class began shortly after the battle of Endor. The battle tested MC40-class had proven itself in battle time and time again and with the war dragging on a new more powerful version of the ship was needed. The first of the class entered service just after the battle of Sullust and three vessels of the MC45-class were present at Duro as the Alliance liberated the world. Fifteen Ion Cannons assist the turbolasers in ship to ship battle by disabling the ships shields and systems. Ten laser cannons provide protection from smaller targets and work as anti-fighter and anti-projectile defense when needed. Six Tractor Beam Projectors assist with fighter recovery and ship capture. A Large Hanger is positioned on the port side of the ship. This hanger houses twenty four fighter craft and twelve support craft ranging from blastboats to shuttle craft.
