Owned by the Santhe Family, one of the ruling houses of Lianna, the Santhe Corporation is a conglomerate of various business enterprises based in the Tion Cluster, with strong ties to the Galactic Republic and Galactic Empire.

Via an arranged marriage with the Sienar Family in 99 BBY, the Santhe Family gained a controlling interest in Sienar Technologies: a starship designer with numerous government contracts with the Galactic Republic, best known nowadays as the designer of the Marauder Corvette. Sienar Technologies was a subsidiary of Republic Sienar Systems; when RSS was dissolved by Republic during the Clone Wars because of it's involvement in providing military hardware to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Sienar Technologies was reformed as Santhe/Sienar Technologies, which remained afloat largely due to the acquisition of other more successful businesses like Sienar Fleet Systems, Curich Engineering, Balmorran Arms, and the Incom Corporation.

Santhe Corporation's other main subsidiaries are Santhe Passenger and Freight, which was responsible for almost 15% of the galaxy's interstellar passenger transit under the Galactic Empire; and Santhe Security, a private military contractor.

The current Chief Executive Officer of the Santhe Corporation is Achilles Sienar-Santhe. He was appointed to the position when, as CEO of Santhe/Sienar Technologies, he succeeded in hostile takeovers of Arakyd Industries, the Aratech Repulsor Company, and Balmorran Arms in the wake of the Alliance-Imperial Treaty. He is descended from the arranged marriage that provided the Santhe Family with a controlling interest over Sienar Technologies a century prior.

When the Alliance-Imperial Treaty was signed, much of the Santhe Corporation's infrastructure in the Tion Cluster and Corporate Sector found itself on the wrong side of the Alliance border. Unwilling to endure the kind of punitive taxation that the Alliance of Free Planets would impose on any Imperial supply shipments moving through their territory, the Santhe Corporation instead began to explore options for replacement infrastructure, eyeing the abandoned sky city of Tibannopolis on Bespin as a potential site for development.
