Design

The Victory IV-class was designed as a pocket command ship for smaller squadrons in the outer rim and other low value sectors. The Design team of Rendili and KDY have taken the old hull and modernized it beyond current standards. State of the art systems,Shielding, and weapons make the VIC IV the most modern ship in the Imperial navy. The Victory IV-class uses most of the modifications of the Vic III. More advanced sensors make targeting and deep system scanning far more accurate. So accurate the heavier weapons could track smaller targets like fighters allowing the light anti-projectile/fighter weapons to be removed and replaced with additional heavy weapons.

History

Design of the Vic III began midway through the 6 ABY. The MK III version was soon released and slowly MK I class vessels are being Refitted to the MK III variant. The need for a small inexpensive command ship was realized and the idea for a pocket command ship was realized. As of 9.100, only one of the MK IV have been built. The prototype has been put through the paces and tested well in the role it was intended for. Future deployment plans see the MK IV being deployed with its early cousins the MK II, and the MK III's being deployed now.
