The Valiant is an MC40a Star Cruiser of Mon Calamari design, on detatched duty from the 103rd Interdictor Squadron. Her current assignment sees her providing protection for The Wheel - a convoy of assorted Jedi ships, that serves as a hub for the fractured remnants of the Jedi Order. The Valiant is presently home to Rogue Squadron, also assigned to defend the convoy.

Post-Reset
The Valiant is just one of numerous Mon Calamari craft that entered the Rebel Alliance fleet in the years before the Battle of Endor. Originally an MC40 Star Cruiser, she was reconfigured to increase her internal capacity - allowing her to carry two squadrons of fighters, rather than just the one - as well as recieving a number of other upgrades that would qualify her as an MC40a.
One of her main assignments since Endor was on hit-and-run missions against Imperial supply lines, helping to keep the Empire off-balance and provide advantages to other Alliance Fleet operations elsewhere in the region. At that time she was commanded by Captain Vansen Tyree: a veteran Republic and Imperial Navy Officer. One such mission saw the Valiant and her crew successfully liberate two Action VI Transports from an Imperial convoy along the Hydian Way. (Ride of the Valkyries)
Command later passed to Colonel Leela Vorega of the Alliance Starfighter Corps, who had previously served as the Commander, Air Group. Under Vorega, the ship was assigned to the 103rd Interdictor Squadron, under the authority of Captain Tyree aboard his new ship, the Horizon. (Two Roads Diverged...)
As part of the 103rd, the Valiant participated in the Battle of Bothawui. (Liberation - Battle of Bothawui)
Some time later, the Valiant was ordered to proceed to a new assignment. Officially, she was acting as a detatched member of the 103rd, conducting solo hit-and-run missions in instances where the use of the entire Squadron was unnecessary. In reality, she had been assigned to help defend The Wheel: a convoy of assorted vessels that carried the survivors of the Jedi Purge. (The Ragged They Come)
