Design
The CC-9600 was designed with pure combat in mind. Its modern hull plating, weapons, and shields are more formidable than most vessels in its class. More compact and more heavily armed, it served as a line frigate. Eight double turbolaser cannons and eight double ion cannons provide the CC-9600 with offensive capabilities rivaling anything in its class. Two tractor beam projectors aid in the retrieval of assault craft. The CC-9600 is adapted for atmospheric flight, with various control surfaces built into the hull. The CC-9600 had enough cargo and passenger space to transport two full regiments of troops. This allowed the vessel to operate as an assault ship im planetary assault operations.
History
The CC-9600-class was built by Corellian Engineering Corporation in the later years of the New Order. Many found there way into Alliance hands, where they were used as assault ships and ships of the line.
