Tony Maxwell, President of Maxwell Industries, a droid manufacturing company based on Naboo, wanted to expand it's inventory from simple protocol and work droids to combat droids to sell to planet militaries. Several prototypes were created but never produced, the few that were created were never very popular. Only one was a success at all, the X7-JK Guardian Droid. The droid was built in the shape of a large man, with a proportioned body and limbs. Thick armor combined with advance droid brain clusters, among other mechanical advances, made the droid incredibly endurant as well as intelligent. Special micro-servos and the best mechanical joints ever created gave the droid incredible dexterity in movement, making it also agile. However, the droid was incredibly expensive to produce and it took months to create a single one. Few were ever sold, but they brought in vast amounts of credits for the company. Ragnarok, a designation the first manufactured X7 gave itself, was prematurely turned on. It left the company secure warehouse and decided it wanted to make it's own way in the world. A million-to-one chance glitch in the programming prevented Maxwell Industries from shutting the droid down remotely and repossess it.

Unlike most droids, Ragnarok did not have the impulse to acknowledge it's lack of a master, and instead wished to be the master. Ragnarok became a mercenary and bounty hunter. Ragnarok stole many jobs from others. It was far more capable than any carbon-based mercenary. Able to take damage without dying, able to shoot and fight with incredible precision and prowess, and it never questioned the jobs or failed. Even if it had to ask for additional time, it always eventually found the target and killed him or her. It even got contracted out as a soldier to join other mercenaries in ragtag armies to fight small scale wars on outer-rim planets. Employers soon found out, however, that sometimes Ragnarok was the only one they needed to win those wars.

Using the credits earned, Ragnarok did two things. The first was financing repairs and better weaponry, the second was purchasing a ship. Ragnarok has learned about the importance of a group effort, and how much easier it could make things. It purchased a Skipbray Blastboat, which it named the Shadow Lancer, and took on a crew. From there it and the crew of the Shadow Lancer began taking larger scale missions, including those involving the smuggling of goods aboard there ship or transportation and harboring of criminals and illegal immigrants, the latter of which simply needed to get on to planets that would otherwise not let them in.

The Crew of the Shadow Lancer

The Shadow Lancer: Skipbray Blastboat

Pilot: Jaayzash'ack Jaayza is a rare red skinned Twilek of Clan Shak that Ragnarok took with him after killing her former master during a mission. She became the clinging younger sister to the droid and grew more than attached, even if Ragnarok did not return the love. She had learned her fair share of violence, and the enacting thereof upon others, while in slavery. Anything but innocent, she has been more than capable in any situation. Ragnarok taught her to pilot and now she acts as the ship's primary pilot, freeing up Ragnarok.

Gunner: Kronos Krrrsk Kronos is a Barabel with a penchant for shooting holes through people. He was picked up by Ragnarok because it had need of a partner who could do the messy jobs, which were otherwise reserved for Ragnarok alone. Kronos is easily angered and trigger happy. He and Ragnarok usually take missions together, while the other crew members remain aboard the ship.

Navigation: Jackson "Hawk" Hawkins Jackson is the only human officer aboard the Shadow Lancer. A nobody to the world of crime, he was innocent and desperate when Ragnarok found him and hired him. He remains a beacon of civility among the others. While a complete amateur, he is more than capable of plotting the voyage of the ship, even if he can't hit the broadside of a barn with a blaster. Jackson is also quite smitten with the pilot, Jaayzash'ack.

Pre-Reset

Ragnarok was created by Jedi Padawan Tony Maxwell during his time with the Greater Jedi Order. Tony perfectly engineered and built Ragnarok from scratch using materials gained from his father, Andrew Maxwell, then owner of Maxwell Industries. Ragnarok was equipped with an experimental highly advance droid brain cluster that permitted it near sentient thought. However, Tony never took advantage of the Droid's incredible capabilities and instead the droid was used as a servant of sorts, commonly cooking meals for it's often alcohol poisoned creator. Eventually Ragnarok grew tired of the relationship between droid and creator, and how everything had panned out. It became a mercenary of sorts, doing odd jobs here and there, but never rose to recognition.
