The New Bulwark Mk III Assault Cruiser is a redesigned Clone War-era Bulwark Battleship. These vessels have been salvaged and recommissioned at the Mustafar Shipyards and serve as Assault ships under the command of Commodore Phoenix.
Design
With the role of Planetary Assault Craft, these large cruisers can hold their own against enemy warships and break through blockades to land much needed troops on besieged planets. Heavy Turbolaser cannons work as ship-to-ship weapons, while the remaining weapons of the Mk III are tasked with defense and atmospheric assault. The Mk III fighter wing consists seventy two fighter craft; these can be a mix of fighters and bombers. After the Mk III has landed on a planet, it can deploy its four regiments through multiple access ramps. Air Speeders can be launched from the upper hanger to assist the assault forces and protect the Mk III while deployment exercises are being undertaken.
History
The Brain child of alliance Commodore Anne Phoenix. The MK III Class started with the salvage of the three old CIS Bulwark Battleship hulks drifting near Anaxes. They would be taken to Mustafar and recomissioned as the new MK III Class.
