Built from Bath Stone, Rudloe Manor is a modest country house with an unremarkable early history.
In the 1930s however, the local quarries became the Central Ammunition Depot for the United Kingdom; and during the Second World War the house became part of RAF Box (later RAF Rudloe Manor), with a now-derelict operations building was built beside the house to serve as the headquarters for No. 10 Group RAF: part of Fighter Command. Several military units have occupied buildings on the grounds over the decades, variously involved with communications, training, and even satellite control for the Skynet communications network.
RAF Rudloe Manor was officially closed in 2000, with the house and it's immediate surroundings sold off to a private party. The Manor was bought by Admiral Nathan Godfrey, Brigadier Wayland Godfrey, and Wing Commander Thomas E. Harriman: three men heavily involved in military and intelligence operations involving mutants. Nathan Godfrey is the only survivor from the original trio, though he considers Harriman's eldest grandson to have "inherited" his share.
Following the attacks against the Harriman family by Hurucan, Jace Harriman has been in witness protection at Rudloe Manor, officially reported to have died in the attack. After the British government declared a clampdown on mutants, Nathan Godfrey used the site - along with the nearby abandoned Burlington nuclear bunker - to harbour (and train) a team of mutant outlaws.
