Captain Vartan Kurus is a member of the salarian Special Tactics Group, currently commanding the 2nd Infiltration Regiment. He is thirty-two years old: quite a respectable age for a salarian, who generally don't live beyond fourty, and is considered by his peers to be due for retirement.
After the Systems Alliance saccrificed ships and personnel to save the Destiny Ascension and the Citadel Council, the 2nd Infiltration Regiment was deployed to Asteria, aiding the local garrison in defending the colony against the Geth as a sign of solidarity. However, contact has recently been lost with the human colony on Asteria, and with Captain Kurus' team...
