Tom Lankey is a student at the Meadowbridge School for Mutant Youth in London. He is a rebellious extrovert who revels in the attention of his peers and has a penchant for trouble. Estranged from his family, Tom remains at the school year-round, where he has formed an unlikely friendship with fellow student, Susie Quinn. Between lessons and detention, his life is a spiralling rollercoaster of impulse and excess, but all that is about to be derailed with the arrival of new student Jack Niven.
