Treadstone Industries is a Louisiana-based company, whose primary focus is research and development in the aerospace engineering field. Recently, Treadstone has also acquired a number of companies involved in weapons development and biomedical research. The Los Angeles offices of the company are comprised of a tall office tower in the downtown area, and a warehouse complex outside the city that also houses laboratories and testing areas. The company's CEO and President is Dahlia Ericsson. Unbeknownst to the world at large, Treadstone CEO Dahlia Ericsson is the primary financier for a counter mutant terrorism team known as X-Force, whose base of operations is located in secret beneath one of her company's warehouses. The team was set up by Ericsson in conjuction with a former member of British intelligence, known to the team only as Surge, on the understanding that whilst she would provide the capital, he would provide the military experience and expertise needed to put Treadstone's extensive arsenal of technology to use.
