The vigilante Orion is a mutant crimefighter operating in Los Angeles, who first appeared in the weeks following the introduction of the Mutant Registration Act.
His actions seem to reflect a desire to protect the innocent: he specifically targets violent crimes against young women, though is also believed to have thwarted a number of break-ins and thefts as well. Orion is known to have sustained injuries on at least one occasion, but no A&E departments in the area reported matching wounds on any of their patients.
Though apparently posessing a mutant ability believed to be telekinetic in nature, Orion primarily engages his opponents with archery and martial arts. An early signature of his activities was leaving behind one of his arrows - decorated with a star pattern matching the constellation Orion - as a calling card.
More recently, arrows sporting blunted rubber heads have been found at crime scenes suspected to be sights of activity by Orion. A corresponding decrease in arrows with conventional arrowheads implies that Orion is attempting to migrate still further from causing lethal harm to his victims.
On many occasions, Orion has contacted the LAPD to notify them of the location of a subdued criminal, suggesting that he believes his actions are beneficial to the efforts of local law enforcement.
Orion is the secret vigilante identity of registered mutant Tom Harriman.
