Alexander Tur'enne
From TheHolo.Net Forums Wiki
A former weapons researcher from Frohad Galactic Firearms, Alexander Tur'enne defected to the Rebel Alliance after the Imperials fortified his research facility on Corellia into what was effectively a prison for him and his fellow scientists. He escaped with the help of his sister - Charlotte Tur'enne - and the special operations team Dorn Force.
His initial service with the Alliance was as quartermaster and tech support for Dorn Force, but he has since begun to take a more active role in field operations.
History
- "These pants with this jacket? Do you have no comprehension of fashion at all?"
- ―Alexander Tur'enne, to John Glayde
Xander knows very little about his biological parents, having been adopted by Jacob and Alluria Tur'enne at a very young age. Though they never kept his adopted status a secret, the couple - who had been struggling to concieve - raised him as one of their own, and continued to do so even after their biological daughter, Charlotte, was born.
Alexander and Charlotte were opposite sides of the coin: Xander was the smart-minded (and smart-mouthed) academic, while Charlie was the impulsive hot-head. The two were forever falling out and fighting, but in truth they were incredibly close; when Alexander left to attend university it was difficult for both of them, and when Charles ran off to join the Corellian Resistance, they went for years without seeing each other.
Aside from his academic studies, there was one other important focus in Alex's life: Laura Dechen, his high school sweetheart. Xander was hopelessly in love, and though the few years between them made it tough when he moved away to university, the two had plans to live together and begin the rest of their lives together as soon as she did the same. Unfortunately, Laura met and ran off with another man, leaving Xander utterly devastated. His studies suffered to such a degree that he flunked out of university, and ultimately he found himself homeless, directionless, and hopeless.
Fortunately, his father was able to pull some strings and get him an entry-level job working for Frohad Galactic Firearms. Smarter than the average high school age students that the company was recruiting for similar posts, Alex managed to rapidly progress through the internal ranks of the business, and eventually found himself involved in a top secret military research project, working for the Galactic Empire. Once the novelty wore off however, Xander began to have his doubts over the morality of their research, and had concerns about the oppressive security measures the Empire had put in place. Managing to contact the Rebel Alliance, he was able to arrange for his rescue and defection: a mission that would ultimately be carried out by his sister.
Becoming caught up with Dorn Force - the special ops unit on which his sister served - he leant his skills as a technician and researcher, helping to refine and customise the weapons being used by the team. Over time his contributions expanded, initially providing comms and sensor support from the safety of a shuttle, and then eventually in direct contributions in the field. When Dorn Force was reassigned to SpecForce Command on Bothawui, Xander was officially recognised as a member of the operations team.
Personality / Relationships
- "I know I haven't exactly been the best brother in the galaxy, but I- I'm here if you need to talk. I'll always be here for you. Always."
- ―Alexander Tur'enne, to Charlotte Tur'enne
Alexander is incredibly smart, and he knows it. While he does - most of the time - make an effort to tone down his self-confidence (borderline arrogance, really), he does find that at times he can rub people up the wrong way; especially his sister, though most of the time that is intentional. For the most part he is lighthearted and optimistic, but he doesn't allow that to loosen his grip on logic and common sense: at times he can be a grim realist, and is not afraid to point out when the idealistic approach just doesn't work anymore.
His biggest problem comes in the form of Laura Dechen. Despite the years that have passed, the wounds of their relationship are still as fresh as ever, and he struggles to cope with that. He has been unable to allow himself to become emotionally attatched to another woman since, and while he does find a degree of comfort in the company of men, it is always far more physical for him. It doesn't stop him from making friends, but he does have a number of trust issues - particularly with women - if they try and get too close.
Jacob Tur'enne
Xander's father, Jacob Tur'enne is an incredibly kind, supportive, and accomodating man who has done everything possible to ensure the best possible life for his son. While he has never put Xander under any pressure to achieve or perform however, Xander has always been intensely worried about disappointing Jacob, and often feels that by allowing his life to deteriorate the way it has, he is letting his father down.
Charlotte Tur'enne
As with every pair of siblings, Xander's relationship with Charlotte Tur'enne is a delicate balance of love, affection, frustration, and taunting. Given Charlie's impulsive nature, there are times when Xander's eagerness to push her buttons has escallated into him recieving some sort of physical injury; despite everything though, he cares about her more than anyone else in the universe. His only regret is that he allowed himself to become so caught up in his studies and with Laura that he was never the caring big brother that Charlotte needed him to be: now, he is trying to make up for that as best he can.
Laura Dechen
The great love of his life, Laura Dechen is the woman that broke Xander's heart. The two have not seen nor spoken to each other since, and she is a constant source of pain and anguish to him; even so, Xander still loves her intensely. That manifests in an almost obsessive interest in her life and wellbeing, though he manages to ignore the urge to check up on her most of the time. Recently, he has discovered that she and her father are now involved with the Rebel Alliance, but has made no attempts to get in contact with her as yet.
Maxx Elgrin
A Rebel officer who often works with Dorn Force, Maxx Elgrin is Xander's latest distraction from his Laura anguish. Unlike most encounters however, this has lasted far longer than the one-night stands he aims for; worse, Maxx's confidence and overbearing personality has placed him in control of the relationship, which at times leaves Xander feeling a little uncomfortable and overwhelmed.

- ―Alexander Tur'enne, to Charlotte Tur'enne
