A squadron of Preybird-class Starfighters, Hammerhead Squadron was one of the units that participated in the Battle of Bothawui. Following the success of that operation, and the redeployment of an entire Rebel fleet to the Bothawui system, Hammerhead Squadron was one of the units redeployed aboard the Star Destroyer Challenger, to form part of the defensive force protecting The Wheel.
