This article is about the Deep Core. You may be looking for the Galactic Core, also known as the "Core Worlds".

Hidden within the densely packed mass of stars at the very heart of the galaxy, the Deep Core (also known as the Deep Galactic Core or Core Systems) was a small region that hid unusual worlds. The Deep Core was home to the galaxy's oldest stars, at its center was a black hole surrounded by antimatter and dense star clusters. Due to the gravitational pull of the vast number of stars, local space-time was severely warped, making hyperspace travel difficult at best.

The region was thought to be inaccessible until Emperor Palpatine found several safe hyperlanes into the region.

Oversectors

Sector 5 was an Imperial Oversector in the Deep Core. It was governed by Grand Moff Gann.

Sectors

The Deep Core Security Zone was a restricted area of Imperial space in the Deep Core.

  • Teta Sector]

Teta (a.k.a. Koros) Sector contained the Starswarm Cluster.

Other Deep Core locations
  • Eclipse

Eclipse was a planet in the Deep Core, hidden in an asteroid field. It wasn't discovered until late in the EU - so it's up for grabs now

  • Tarkin's Fang

Tarkin's Fang was a secret Imperial base planet located in the Deep Core, near the Treskov system. It was founded shortly after the Galactic Empire was formed. Wilhuff Tarkin was the founder of this base and, after a four-day orbital bombardment of the planet, landed a division of Imperial Army forces on it and established a research facility on its battered crust.

  • Tsoss Beacon

Tsoss Beacon was an asteroid in the Deep Core, containing an Imperial communications relay station built in 3 BBY.

  • Starswarm Cluster

The Starswarm Cluster was a cluster of stars near the Empress Teta system. Gav and Jori Daragon passed through here while mapping new hyperspace routes.
