Delgado Xaanan is the son of Farris Xaanan, former Republic Senator and later Imperial Governor and Moff of Commenor. Until recently, Delgado was sidelined into a fairly irrelevant position as Imperial Advisor to the Corporate Sector. However, with political changes affecting the business world, he has become a leading - Imperial-friendly - candidate for the role of Executive Officer of the Corporate Sector Authority.
Post-Reset
Delgado was a child of politics, and had absolutely no interest in being one. Immensely successful, his father was always overly critical of his son, and regarded him as a disappointment who would never be able to live up to the high standard of excellence that Farris believed he had established. Rather than rebel against his father's opinion of him however, Delgado merely continued to live a relatively mediocre life without having to concern himself with constant interference and demands.
When he was old enough, Delgado began a career in COMPNOR. Delgado began as a lowly officer working in the Coalition for Improvements, working with various under-developed - mostly Outer Rim - sectors, mo modernise their technology and systems to conform with levels that the Galactic Empire percieved as acceptable. Though hardly glamorous work, it was a task that allowed Delgado to see real positive effects in his work, and one that he found immensely fulfilling. His supervisors obviously seemed to appreciate his efforts and performance: Delgado's dependability and reliable work-ethic saw him transferred to the Coalition for Improvements - another branch of COMPNOR that worked with Sectors to improve their social and economic structures, rather than just the technological infrastructure.
Corporate Sector
At the Coalition for Improvements, Delgado became involved with the Commerce branch of the organisation, and eventually found himself working with the Corporate Sector as part of the Corporate Sector System Development Programs. He rose steadily through the ranks to middle management, and found himself transferred to a clear-cut promotion track where he moved steadily upwards as the more senior management were retired and reassigned.
Following the Battle of Yavin the focus of the Commerce branch changed, but by then Delgado had already been appointed to the pinacle position within the Corporate Sector. As Imperial Advisor to the Direx Board, he became responsible for representing the interests of the Galactic Empire in the deliberations of the Corporate Sector Authority. Delgado made use of his reputation for reliability to subtly influence his collegues, gently coaxing decisions towards what the Empire required without direct confrontation, and without people realising how skewed towards Imperial objectives the "compromise" they agreed to actually was. He also became something of a mediator, and earned the trust and respect of many senior members of the CSA.
After several years serving in the position, the former Moff of the Doldur Sector - Miranda Tarkin - was elevated to the position of Empress. Her appointment caused a political shift; suddenly, a majority of Direx representatives had a strong allegience to either to the Empire, or to Tarkin personally. A vote of no confidence in the existing Executive Officer was called, and Tarkin-friendly elements pushed for Delgado's appointment as the replacement. (An Errant Venture)
One of his first acts as Executive Officer of the Corporate Sector was to pioneer a new initiative on behalf of the Empire. In exchange for Imperial vessels to help maintain safety and security, the Corporate Sector would release a number of the older vessels previously reserved for defense, and would deploy them along the Hydian Way: a major trade route from the Corporate Sector to the Core, which was being extensively raided by the Rebel Alliance. In addition, a number of "safe points" were established, in both Imperial and independent star systems along the route; locations fortified by the Empire, where convoys could revert from Hyperspace relatively confident in the knowledge that there would not be a Rebel ambush waiting for them. One of the worlds approached as part of this initiative was Serenno. (Betrothed to the Wolves)
