Hallgeirr the Nomad
Born the only son of farmers in a hamlet southeast of Dunaad, Hallgeirr's chance at a normal childhood was cut short at the mere age of eleven. His village of origin was ransacked by Trow raiders, his parents only two of the many casualities. With his way of life snatched from him, Hallgeirr fled to a grove of nearby grove of trees. His cries were heard by a compassionate old Fian named Yorlei. When Yor learned of the boy's troubles he took him in, vowing to give him a second chance at life. Yor was a poetic, musical traveler who knew how to handle himself in a brawl. He bestowed his knowledge of the arts and of magic and combat to his new apprentice.
Many years later, at the age of 26, Hallgeirr again found himself alone. Yor's life was spent after he came down with a terrible cough. Hal burried his mentor in the woods and pushed onward, on his way to discovering a life of his own. He now travels across the continent, surviving with his gifts of art and song (and a touch of magic). He lives a poor life, but never has anything less than a smile to give to those he meets.
