Description: The Saint Tarkin rebuild is applied to all Dreadnoughts in Imperial Service when they need maintenance, or repair work done to them. Similar to the Rebel Assault Frigates, the Saint Tarkin type rebuild turns an old line ship into a modern heavy cruiser combatant. The dreadnought is essentially gutted, with a second, over sized reactor core added amidships, with the hangar, new and expanded, being moved to the forward part of the ship. The new dreadnought is highly automated, reducing the crew size needed, with a Star Destroyer style bridge being mounted on the forward part of the ship along with the new, more powerful shield generators/projectors. Two Nebulon-B Frigate style wings have been added to the forward section, upon which are mounted additional weapons and permits, along with the new fins added amidships, for the dreadnought to enter the atmosphere of a planet, although it can land only on water. On the rear stem of each wing has been added an additional sublight engine for manueverability purposes, enabling the dreadnought to turn around much quicker than it's predecessor.
As for armament, the Dreadnought contains a powerful uniform battery of Dual Turbolaser Cannons on a heavy scale, with a broadside of twenty seven dual cannons, a forward firing arc of twenty two dual cannons, an aft firing arc of ten or more dual cannons, an upwards arc of twenty four dual cannons, and a downwards arc of forty dual cannons. In addition, twenty quad laser cannons have been added for starfighter and missile defense, the cannons situated on the top and bottom hull and very end of the wings. Finally, four tractor beam projectors are situated inside of the hangar entrance forward to assist with the launch and recovery of the starfighters and shuttles.
