The MQ-12 Marauder is an unmanned combat aerial vehicle being developed by Treadstone Industries for the United States Air Force.

Unlike existing UCAV designs such as the MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper - which are essentially remote controlled gliders, intended primarily for surveillance but capable of deploying laser-guided ordnance if required - the MQ-12 is intended to have faster response times and sufficient agility to evade anti-aircraft fire and deploy a broader spectrum of ordnance, allowing it to deliver a precision payload to target where the risk to a human pilot would be too high. Among other things, the craft is VTOL-equipped and, like the RQ-170 Sentinel, it has been developed with stealth considerations in mind.

While past the experimental stage, the Marauder is still in limited production and deployment while the US Air Force conducts a feasability study, and converts existing UCAV operators onto the new craft.

The XQ-12 prototypes are retained at El Toro by Treadstone, and have been deployed on occasion on behalf of X-Force.

Out of Character

The MQ-Marauder's appearence is based on the fictional X-93 Sabre drone from the [1] movie.
