Introduction
The New Republic was the title claimed by 2 separate pre-reset roleplaying groups on TheHolo.Net (at the time called SW-Fans.Net) between 1999 and 2005.

Following the roleplaying reset in 2005, the second group was reborn as The Rebel Alliance.

History
1st Group - New Republic Central Command

The New Republic Central Command (NRCC) was founded in 1999 by members Leia Solo and General Solo. Allied with the Greater Jedi Order, the group participated within the roleplaying universe for a time. However, owing to a lack of members and the founders' lack of involvement with the SW-Fans.Net community, the NRCC was removed as an active group sometime in 2000.

2nd Group - The New Republic

Owing to the removal of the original group and the need to have an opponent for the The Galactic Empire (old), some roleplayers (mostly Jedi) got together and created a new group called The New Republic (TNR). Unlike the earlier group, this group did not function independently but rather existed as a sub-group of the Greater Jedi Order owing to the small amount of members TNR had.

Current Status
As a result of the roleplaying reset in 2005, The New Republic needed to be overhauled in order to fit in with the newly established timeline. The group was reborn as The Rebel Alliance and had it's own separate forums established.
