The Trow
The Trow are believed to be a sub-species of the Men of Midgard. According to Dalriadan myth, the Trow species began with the banishment of Prince Hugo from Dalriada. Hugo was the eldest son of the legendary King Mergovas, who sought to usurp the throne of the newly founded Bai-Ulgan for himself. As punishment for his treasonous actions, the Gods of Midgard condemned Hugo to spend eternity in darkness, never again to set foot on the holy land of Dalriada.
Many Trow, to this day, still harbor this old suspicion and avoid the kingdom of Men if at all possible. There are those who do venture out of the underground caverns and warrens of Verbannen, the home of the Trow, rarely achieve a status any higher than of servant or menial laborer. With pale skin and lank hair, they are unpleasant to the eye, and often lack the 'civility' prided by the Men. In spite of this, the Trow are notoriously sharp-witted and often possess a dark sense of humor to match their bleak outlook on life.
Most Trow magicians are Earth/Fire.
Historical Information
The history of the Trow is past marked with betrayal. Unlike the other species of Midgard, the Trow were not created by divine forces, born into existence by the powers of higher beings - but rather banished. Trace the bloodline of modern day Trow back to it's source and you will find none other than Prince Hugo Mergovas of Dalriada. First son to the legendary King Elias Mergovas, founder of Bai-Ulgan, Hugo sought to usurp his fathers throne for his own purposes. When the Prince's treachery was uncovered, he was banished from the land of Men, and a powerful hex was placed upon him by all the sorcerers in the land. Cursed to never set foot in Dalriada again, Hugo vowed to create his own kingdom, one that would rival his fathers. His legacy can be seen in the caverns of Verbannen, a vast and far reaching underground city.
Spirituality/Mythology
Physical Description
The Trow share many physical characteristics with both the Fian and Men of Midgard. What distinguishes them, for the most part, is a general look of ill-health. As they spend their lives predominantly underground, the Trow are exceptionally pale skinned. Their hair is rarely any shade other than black, though their eyes - able to see keenly in the dark - range in hues and share the strange luminosity seen in the eyes of the Fian. It is a rare thing to see a Trow standing higher than six foot tall.

Locations of Importance
Verbannen
Of all locations, Verbannen is the most important to the Trow. For many, it is the only place they know. When Hugo Mergovas first set about founding his new kingdom, with only the help of a few loyal allies, he chose to form his capitol city underground. To the south of the Steelwood, and guarded by a perilous mountain range, the gates of Verbannen is not easy to reach. Truth be told, few seek to visit the underground city - but those who do are in for a surprise. With the help of Earth Shamans, Hugo was able to carve gigantic halls into the mountainsides and stone beneath. Unfortunately, Hugo died before his vision of the city could be completely realized - yet there are still hints to be seen here and there, in the architecture, of the grandeur that he so desired.
