A large portion was then put towards upgrading his ship, thickening the hull platting and installing many expensive, not to mention illegal, stealth components into his ship. Now the ''Shadowblade'' was virtually invisible, both to the eye and to scanner. With that ship he began his life as a space pirate. No ship near the outer-rim border was safe from his silent vessel. He rarely killed anyone, prefering to simply take expensive personal items and valuable cargo and leave as quickly as possible. Complaints of his actions were taken to the Soveriegn Galactic [[Empire]], but those sent out to capture Jecht either did not find him, or where destroyed by him.

In Character

Jecht Tar is the criminal mastermind and pirate turned Royal Guardsman. His current position as the Captain of Onderon's Royal Guards puts him in charge of the security of the Royal Palace and the safety of the Royal Family. Jecht is a dark figure of a man, with dark tanned skin and dark hair. His bright blue eyes are the only things not dark about him, which causes them to stand out against his dark skin. Scraggly haired and bearded, Jecht looks more like a pirate then a Guardsman. Perhaps there is something behind that.

Jecht Tar is the son Jerald Tar and Ferina Dubya, immigrants from the planet Bakura who moved to the planet of Ord Mantell. Jecht was like any other child. Hyper, wild, and imaginary. In fact he could be found on most days of his childhood staring out into space, off in his own imaginary world. Things were so much nicer in his imaginary world, so he went there often. He was a carefree child, for the most part, and was never one to cause problems, for his parents or for others. His mother died during the P12 outbreak in their town. The virus was very deadly and killed quickly. Scientists never got a chance to examine the virus as it came and went so quickly and left no evidence of it ever existing. When his mother died Jecht's imaginary world shattered, causing him to have to deal with the real world and the pain the loss of his mother brought. His father was destroyed emotionally, slipping into depression and madness which lasted till the day he died several years later. On his own Jecht had thrown out into the streets and forced to deal with a world far more cruel then he imagined. There was only one means for his survival: crime. He stole what he could, working with other street urchins to pull off larger thefts. As he grew older, though, stealing was not always enough. When you stole something chances are another thief is going to attempt to steal it from you. Violence was the means of preserving one's belongings, and it was not long before Jecht was forced to use it to defend himself and his new property. And just like that Jecht became a murderer. Murder never became Jecht's game. Stealing is what he was good at, so he kept that up, moving slowly up to bigger thefts until he was the greatest in his town. He grew a reputation for not only being a master thief capable of stealing anything, but also of being virtually uncatchable. Of course that was not entirely true. He had been caught many times as a child, but since then he had yet to be caught, by his terms. True a few times he was captured, but he always broke free of his captors grasps or escape from whatever prison cell they tossed him in. Stealing became a game for Jecht, as he would often steal something difficult and then return it afterwards.

Eventually he grew bored of his city. There was only so many things to steal. So he moved on to other cities, pillaging them and spending his coin on drink, food, and pleasurable company until he was sick of each and every town. There was not a city on Ord Mantell that had not had something stolen by Jecht. He had nowhere else to pillage, so he went on to the next level. He traveled the galaxy abroad for a year, searching for something: a ship for himself. Using his stolen credits he purchases an old decommissioned Stealth Prowler vessel, which he named Shadowblade. A large portion was then put towards upgrading his ship, thickening the hull platting and installing many expensive, not to mention illegal, stealth components into his ship. Now the Shadowblade was virtually invisible, both to the eye and to scanner. With that ship he began his life as a space pirate. No ship near the outer-rim border was safe from his silent vessel. He rarely killed anyone, preferring to simply take expensive personal items and valuable cargo and leave as quickly as possible. Complaints of his actions were taken to the Sovereign Galactic Empire, but those sent out to capture Jecht either did not find him, or where destroyed by him.

Eventually he wished to expand his scopes and began hiring on like minded individuals and soon he constructed a small pirate armada with which he pillaged the outer-rim planets relentlessly. The Imperial Navy caught wind of his actions and decided to put a stop to him once and for all. They began fake invasion of Ord Mantell, Jecht's homeplanet, to lure the man out of hiding. It worked. The pirate armada appeared over Onderon to meet the Imperial forces to defend Ord Mantell. The Imperial Navy was far stronger, but the pirates still put up a valiant fight before, one by one, succumbing to laser fire. The Shadowblade, Jecht's stealth prowler, was heavily damaged, but not destroyed. He managed to evade capture and escape Ord Mantell's orbit and his Imperial pursuers. He returned to his pirate ways, but was quickly put down by the Imperial Navy again. Jecht took his new position quickly and began organizing the Royal Guard into something truly legendary.
