Design
The TransGalMeg Industries Bulwark-class battle cruiser was a massive capital warship designed for large-scale military operations. Although plagued by rumors of unreliable electronics and sensors, the Bulwark-class nevertheless boasted an extensive arsenal, shielding, and carrying capacity. Armed with 1,250 turbolasers and 600 ion cannons, and outfitted with a support complement of up to ten starfighter squadrons and four troop regiments, the Bulwark was a veritable mobile fortress. Adding to its versatility, the immense battlecruiser was capable of making planetary landfall and disembarking ground forces.
History
TransGalMeg's Bulwark-class battle cruiser succeeded the Bulwark Mark I, a behemoth warship manufactured by the Techno Union and unleashed against the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Many felt that the ship's electronics and sensors were too finicky for regular combat, but the Alliance found that the Bulwark was more than adequately armed and shielded for battle. Most Alliance Bulwark Battlecruisers served as mobile command bases for smaller fleets, which were detached from their primary battle group. It is one of the most battleproof ships employed by the Rebel Alliance.
