Named in reference to the Sword of Damocles, '''Operation Damocles''' is the codename of a special operations project run by MI-13 during the Cold War. It used a combination of specially trained military officers and individuals with supernatural abilities, in order to investigate and combat threats to the United Kingdom from persons of a similar nature: the figurative sword hanging over the head of Great Britain that it's codename references. Many of those part of and encountered by Operation Damocles were what we would now call "mutants".
