Profile
Turned by an unknown sire at the tender age of twenty-two, Niccoli is a handsome Italian Lasombra]] with deep ties to the Church. He resides in St. Petersburg beneath the huge cathedral, and poses as a priest when he can. He enjoys taking confessions from the kine, and even takes a macabre pleasure in forcing his subordinates to enter the confessional.
He was vaulted to his current position within Sabbat society by backstabbing his own childer, Giacomo Rossi. Taking advantage of "Rasputin's" plot to infiltrate the Tzar's family, Niccoli staged a peasant revolution and overthrew the weakened royals and took control of Russia for the Sabbat in one fell swoop. Giacomo was killed in the confusion, which was no great loss as he was fairly crazy, and Niccoli was promoted to Cardinal of Russia.
He was present when Katarina Gordislava clawed her way out of her grave, and is the only one who knows her true heritage, though some might suspect.
Relations with the Russian Garou
Garou, as a rule, despise Kindred, so it was surprising when Niccoli was able to hammer out a sort of cease-fire with the volatile Silver Fang. Once they ruled Russia as the royal family themselves, but now the Russian Silver Fang spend most of their time fighting themselves.
The aged Queen struck a pact with the Cardinal - the vampires stay within the cities and leave the Garou alone, and the Garou remain in the countryside and smaller towns. Many of her followers hate this, but they fight other Silver Fang trying to convince them to rise up against the vampires. Thusly, the Kindred live mostly in peace with the Russian werewolves.
Character Perceptions
The rest of the Cardinals perceive Niccoli to be a weak link, although they would not personally choose to rule in a country filled with Silver Fang Garou. However he does it, Niccoli has kept the cities of Russia largely under Sabbat control.
