The Von Metzger family is similar to the Losstarot Greater House [[Van Derveld]], in that its descendants began to lose the ability to Change.  Many became sterile like the rest of the Lupine Houses, but a few retained the ability to breed, but could not pass on the gift of Changing to their offspring.

After the [[Great Lupine Migration]] from their home system, the Von Metzgers ended up on Aruza. Inhabited by the Aruzans, it is a peaceful world orbited by five moons.
