A Time for Growth (Leten)

"I really like Food that I can eat."

Leten laughs...

"Really I'd be happy with a good quality dumpster. I'll eat just about anything."

Well, I don't like eating out of dumpster's. To many bad memories.

[Leten Snat]

Leten nods...

"I know what you mean... but meh... you do what you have to in order to live.... how about you choose a place near here."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

That is what I was intending to do since I don't have a desire to walk to far.

*Natia continues walking for a few blocks, turning a few corners before pausing for a moment as she looks down a street, smiles and heads down that street*

[Leten Snat]

Leten walks with Natia, occasionaly looking her over as they walk, but trying to not let Natia see him looking her over.

*Natia after several moments stops outside a not so nice looking restaurant and opens the door*

After you Leten.

*Natia follows Leten into the restuarant where she's greeted with a wave by a couple of the servers*

I'll be in my usual place with my friend here.

*Natia motions for Leten to follow her to a back corner where a person gets up from a table and moves to a different table. Natia smiles and nods thanx to them for moving. She then sits down with a sigh and puts the metal pipe down on the ground under the table*

[Leten Snat]

Leten is a little confused.... as he sits down he asks

"Why did those people move?"

Because they were sitting at my table and out of respect for my skill, they moved.

*Natia smiles and shakes her head slightly*

And no, I haven't threatened them. They've seen me fight on a good day, and they know I like this table.

[Leten Snat]

"Oookay... So you come here often? and what skill of yours do they respect?"

Yeah, I come here often. They have great food, and after you get used to the usual clientale, the company's great as well.

And it's my fighting skill that they respect. Mind you, they've only seen me fight on a good day.

[Leten Snat]

"what's the diffrence of you fighting on a good day or a bad day?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

On a good day, I can actually fight. On a bad day, I just get beaten up.

*Natia waves over a waiter to take their drink orders*

I'll have a cola.

[Leten Snat]

Leten looks up at the waiter...

"I'll have some cold water.."

he then loooks back at Natia.

"So what food is good here?"

Anything that's cooked completely. If it's only partially cooked, you don't want to eat it.

*Natia looks at her menu then as the waiter goes and heads off to get them their drinks*

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles and looks down at the menu, not wanting to let on that he really can't read the menu, he just puts his menu down and looks at Natia and says...

"I don't really know what most of this stuff is... If you don't mind I'll let you order for me?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Not a problem.

*Natia looks at Leten and smiles as the waiter comes back with their drinks*

"What can I get you to eat now?"

What's the special today??

"Wouldn't advise it to Miss. It's some leftover stew we're trying to get rid of with a fancy name. Absolutely awful. Today I'd recommend the nerf chops. Fresh in this morning."

Two nerf chop dinners then. And this time, don't forget the gravy on the potatoes.

"Sure Miss. Two nerf dinners with extra gravy on potatoes comin up Miss."

*Natia turns back to Leten as the waiter heads off to notify the cooks about the order*

Do you like nerf??

[Leten Snat]

Leten Shrugs...

"I don't know if I have ever had it before. If I have it was A La Dumpster..."

Well, you won't get A La Dumpster here. And I hope you like it.

[Leten Snat]

"I hope I like it too... But I think I will. When you don't mind the taste of dumpster food, almost anything else wonderful."

*Natia leans back in her seat and smiles, happy to be here with Leten*

I'd imagine so. I rather like nerf steaks. I never got good food from my biological Father. My adopted Father freaks if he doesn't see me eating good food.

[Leten Snat]

Leten hangs his head and frowns...

"I never got to know my father. He was killed in a gang war when I was young, and My mother died giving birth to me. I guess I really don't have a family..."

I'm sorry to hear that. My Father killed my Mother after I was born. I never got to know her though my sister's speak fondly of her.

Someday you shall have a family Leten, and when that day comes, you shall know true happiness. Knowing that you will be able to spend the rest of your life with those that you love, and who love you in return.

As for my own Father, the bugger's dead and good riddance. The galaxy's a better place without him.

"I was once told by a friend that love is life's way of stabbing you in the back while making you think you are happy about it."

It can happen that way if the person you love doesn't love yo back. But anything worth having always has a price to go along with it. Even just having me as a friend has a price. But those that truly wish to be my friend, are willing to pay the price for being my friend.

[Leten Snat]

"What kind of price is there to be your friend? I don't have any money to give you, so I doubt you would want to be my friend."

*Natia smiles and shakes her head*

The price for my friendship is not money, or goods, or anything like that. It's to be willing to put up with me and my disapperances which will happen at random times and there is a chance that I will not be in contact with anybody for months at a time. Any friends I have, have to be willing to put up with me and lack of communication.

I've lost many so called friends because they did not like my being out of touch for so long and they just turned their backs on me because of it.

I'll understand if you have no wish to be my friend because of it.

[Leten Snat]

Leten is suprised...

"That's not a price! That's LIFE! Or at least the way life is on the streets. I'll be your friend if thats all you want in return."

It's life on the streets yes, but most ppl who haven't lived on the streets are not willing to accept that.

*Natia smiles when Leten says that he's willing to be her friend.

At this time their meals are brought over and placed infront of them. And there's extra gravy on the mashed potatoes*

"Anything else Miss?" *The server asks*

Nope.

*Natia looks over at Leten*

Do you need anything else??

[Leten Snat]

Leten looks at the food placed in front of him.

"I don't even Need this! But I'll take it.... I'l be more than fine for now."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

*Natia nods to the server who then heads off*

Nobody needs this type of food, but it's always nice to have it.

*Natia picks up her knife and fork and cuts a piece of the nerf chop and eats it*

Good chops today.

[Leten Snat]

Leten picks up the nerf chop by the bone and takes a big bite out of it...

"Mmmm... This is good!" He says with his mouth half full.

Don't talk with your mouth full. It's impolite in a restaurant.

*Natia says out of force of habit before it sinks in what she just said*

I'm so sorry Leten. I'm just used to dealing with ppl that didn't grow up on the streets.

[Leten Snat]

Leten shrugs and finishes the bite in his mouth

"No big deal... I'm not on the streets now, so I guess I should start trying to act more like it."

He takes another bite of nerf.

*Natia smiles at this as she takes another bite of her chop. She glances around at the other patrons who have started murmering about this and her glance hardens on the guilty parties until they turn back to their own meals and conversations. She then turns back to Leten, her gaze softening and smiles again*

But apart of you will always be on the streets because that is where you have grown up.

[Leten Snat]

"Well yah... But that doesn't meen it needs to be seen by others."

Most ppl will not want to see it, but I kinda find it attr...

*Natia lets her sentence trail off as she goes to take another bite of her nerf chop*

Leten smiles with a questioning look on his face...

"You find it attractive if somebody is acting like a slob?"

No, it's not that which I find attractive. It's the fact that you have exprienced life, and that you are no weakling to show fear when things start getting tough.

[Leten Snat]

"What do you meen by 'no weakling to show fear when things start getting tough'?"

Just as I said. Earlier when things were getting tough with me and then your slipping, you didn't show fear. That's what I mean.

[Leten Snat]

"Oh... Well... What would be the point of showing fear? It would only get you to panic, and that wouldn't help anything."

Alot of ppl don't understand that. They are more then willing to show fear and cause panic, even though it is counter productive.

[Leten Snat]

"That will just get you killed in the lower levels..."

I know, but others either know but don't care or they don't know.

*Natia takes a bite of her mashed potatoes and is thoughtful for a minute or two afterwards*

You know, this is one of their better batches of mashed potatoes.

[Leten Snat]

Leten picks up some of the mashed potatos with his fingers and looks at them...

"I don't think I've ever hed these before..."

He eats the potatos in his hand..

"...But they do taste good!"

*Natia cringes slightly when Leten picks up the mashed potatoes with his hand*

Leten, there is a fork which you can use with the mashed potatoes which will make eating them easier.

[Leten Snat]

"Fork? What's that?" leten says as her picks up his nerf with his hands again and takes another bite...

*Natia points to the fork which is on the table beside Leten*

That's a fork. You hold the handle, the end which doesn't have the multiple points.

[Leten Snat]

Leten picks up the fork be the handle, gripping it like a hammer..

"Okay... now what do I do with it?"

Here, let me show you a way which is supposed to be more comfortable to hold the fork.

*Natia then demonstrates with holding her own fork*

[Leten Snat]

Leten fiddles with the fork, dropping it a few times but then gets it in his hand similar to that of the was Natia is holding her fork..

"I don't know how this is comfortable... it feels awful."

Most ppl find it comfortable, but they've grown up with it like that. I'm sorry about nagging you about this.

[Leten Snat]

Leten switches the fork from his right hand, to his left hand.

"Well that feels a little better. So what do I do with it?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Now, you take the fork like this and pick up some food.

*Natia demonstrates with her fork as she picks up some mashed potatoes*

[Leten Snat]

Leten copies Natia's movements and picks up some mashed potatos, only to have them fall on his lap. Leten uses his hands to picks the potatos off his lap and off the floor, and eats them.

"I don't think it's supose to work like that."

*Natia smiles as Leten tries to pick up the mashed potatoes with the fork*

It takes practise. I've had my whole live learning how to do this, whereas you are just learning.

[Leten Snat]

Leten nods sheepishly.

"But would you really mind if I use my hands for now?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Go for it my friend. We can work with utensils back at the temple.

*Natia looks around and narrows her eyes at those that have started watching them again until they turn back to their own discussions. She then turns and smiles at Leten*

Well, enjoy your meal.

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles and seems to relax a bit.

"Thanks. I will enjoy my meal. i also think I'll enjoy being your friend"

*Natia smiles at Leten's comment*

Leten smiles and continues to eat his meal with his fingers.

*Natia continues to eat in silence for awhile*

You know Leten, I've really enjoyed my day with you so far.

Leten seems a bit suprised, and says still with a bit of food in his mouth

"Really?! Why would you like being arround me?"

Yes Leten, I like being around you. You're a nice and wonderful person who has alot of good ideas. And you don't match the stereotypical description of a Jedi. You understand things which alot of ppl who are four times our age don't even have a clue exist.

[Leten Snat]

Leten just shrugs..

"I'm just a street kid that likes to help others. I'm sure that there must be lost of people like me on this planet."

If there are, then I have yet to find them, and I've spent many years on this planet.

Besides, do you mind me liking you??

"NO! I don't mind yo liking me! I Love the fact you like me!"

That's good cause I like the fact that I like you and that it seems that you like me.

[Leten Snat]

"Oh! I really do like you! Your a really nice person! and Very beautiful as well.... But that's just a bonus..."

Beauty can be a hassle because it can make others blind to who you really are.

[Leten Snat]

"do you think that I am blind to who you are?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Did I say that you were?? All I said is that beauty can make a person blind to who you are.

[Leten Snat]

"But since I think you are beautiful, wouldn't that make my question valid?"

No because not all the time does beauty blind a person.

[Leten Snat]

"I understand that, but my question is still valid. I just want to know what you Think I see you as."

I do not think that you are blind to who I am. But I know that there are those out there that are, just as I am blind to who others are at times.

[Leten Snat]

Leten gets a puzzled look on his face.

"I thought you to be an open minded person? Why would you be blind to who other are?"

When a person is a good actor, they can fool even the best person.

Leten Srugs..

"Okay...."

*Natia smiles, continues eating her smile while enjoying Leten's presence*

[Leten Snat]

It's not long till Leten Finishes his meal, and just sits there watching Natia eat the rest of her meal. After they are both done, Leten Asks..

"So Now what?"

As much as I wish to continue spending time with you, I have some things that I must tend to today before it's to late.

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles...

"Well then I guess I should let you go and do what you have to. Right? Will I see you again? I hope I will."

Of course you will Leten. We both are members of the GJO. That right there garentees we'll meet again. Plus my wish to talk with you again, another garentee.

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles....

"Alright, Then I will look forward to see you again."

Leten open his arms towards Natia.

"Hug?"
