edit: Doctor says he's showing no signs of a stroke, did some tests that came back fine and took blood for more tests that we'll hear back from in a few days. :x So, he's home. I told him that if anything like that ever happens again he's to go straight to the doctor and he sort of rolled his eyes at me. :shakefist

You can start a support group with Martina. In the process of moving in with me she has gotten rid of like 3-6 big trash bags of stuff and this does not include the stuff she gave to her little sister.

So Ty has a follow-up appointment on Saturday. They wanted to see him today or tomorrow because his blood work showed he has a higher white blood cell count than he should (don't know how high), and something in his liver test was 'off' (have no idea what this means). He asked if he could see the same doctor as before and she isn't in the clinic again until Saturday. So, hopefully it isn't completely urgent he gets seen right away! I will be going with him on Saturday AM.

He"s had a migraine headache all day (since yesterday really, to the point that he threw up last night), sore neck, sensitive to light... No fever. His blood pressure when he left the clinic yesterday was 140/104 and today it was 148/60 (I think, I'm remembering this. The first numbers are for sure correct and I know that is in the danger zone of hbp). I'm just so freaking worried.

The episode he had yesterday during lunch was that his left arm went suddenly numb, he couldn't talk, and when he looked at his phone he couldn't read the words on it. But with no apparent signs of stroke, so i guess that's good. I just hope we can nail down what's causing these symptoms and that it isn't anything that starts with c. Had the thought that maybe it's meningitis.

I am hopefully that it is simply severe stress and that this will finally get him to start taking care of himself.

Oh yeah, did I mention his dad died young from leukemia?

I am on the edge of freaking out, but worrying without the facts (or even with them) wont help anyone.

I posted an update to Facebook, but there are some people here (coff-Droo) who don't check it. Appointment on Sat was good. Ty's white blood cell count was only slightly elevated (12.6 when it should be between 4-10), and his liver enzymes were slightly elevated as well. The doc surmised that he was fighting off some kind of bacterial infection and prescribed an antibiotic to try to knock that out. His BP was awesome, in the 120s/?, which was great. Such a relief.

He just needs to keep on eating all three meals a day, sleeping at night, and generally taking care of himself a lot better. Like I've been telling him for years.

I'm impressed with how in depth her Star Trek knowledge is, and how insightful she is about the themes of the show. I feel really guilty about it now, but I'd always assumed she was just there because they wanted someone hot... but she's actually really switched on about what the whole thing is about, and she comes across as someone who'd actually be pretty interesting to talk to.

Plus, she has a ridiculously cute and dorky laugh. :3:
