Quoted for great truth. I would know, as one of six (technically eight) myself. And we did sort of run a small farm on our own, so yeah. We spend loads each week on groceries.
My mother says that our combined hilarity makes up for a lot of our idiosyncrasies though. We constantly debate what a comedy show based on our family would be like. Right now I think it's somewhere between Malcolm in the Middle and Scrubs (mostly because we break out in song every now and then).

They have a tornado shelter - they live close to a lake so no basements because of the high water table. They just had some wicked thunderstorms and lots of rain because the bigger storms went to the south of them. Which is good, not just for them but for Joplin because then it would have hit them again too.
My parents have had quite a bit of property flooding - on Monday their burn pile floated away - but it didn't reach any of the buildings. Yet...

Trying to convince my grandmother to buy a little flat in Bad Nauheim (I think that`s what it`s called) and then rent it to me on the cheap... ^_^;

A customer just called in to say her internet isn't working. I had to explain that the reason the Google logo looks odd is because it's Les Paul's birthday and he makes guitars, hence the strings.

this is either another food sensitivity (but the only "new" food I ate was eggs) or a genuine migraine (although I haven`t monitered any surgeries lately which is the only time I get them.)
Whichever it is, it hurts and looks like someone punched me in both eyes and please make it stop. :(

Everytime I see the name "Rossos Atrapes" I always shorten it to "R. Atrapes" or "rat traps".
Rossos Atrapes
Jun 10th, 2011, 06:08:23 PM
^Hahahahahahahahahaha
...Wouldn't it be "Rat rapes"?
Pierce Tondry
Jun 10th, 2011, 06:23:37 PM
I think of it as "rah-traps", sort of smushing the two words together so they share the "t" sounds. But hey, you could have "rat rapes" if you like.
HEY EVERYONE! LET'S CALL HIM RAT RAPES FROM NOW ON!
Rossos Atrapes

By that logic I think of a rat traipsing, and then Mickey Mouse.

An anagram of Rossos Atrapes is: "rats rape, so SOS"

"It's weird that the Americans were annoyed with the bloke from BP for trying to provide them with the oil that they craved. It's ridiculous. It's like a furious customer punching a prostitute in the face because he's sickened by his own desire." - Stewart Lee

Scouse salad? check.
Newly-attempted cocnut recipe goodies? check.
Pot of tea? check.
Regency dress and pearls? check.
BBC`s Pride & Predjudice miniseries? check.
Coping strategies are in place and we are cleared for takeoff.

Did you just get dressed up and make yourself afternoon tea and snacks to watch "Pride and Prejudice"?
Polly Smithson
Jun 12th, 2011, 07:02:27 PM
No, I made myself afternoon tea and snacks because I`m South African and that`s what we do.
... and then I got dressed up tp watch Pride and Prejudice. Don`t judge my Sunday aftie proclivities, Brian, I`m completely normal. :shakefist

Well, I was thinking that was a hilariously fantastic idea, I just couldn't tell if you were doing it or not. It's too bad you didn't go all out.
I mean, remember who you're talking to here. That would have been just the right amount of overkill, and I love me some overkill.

It was a pretty wild time. We (my bestie Rio & I and a handful of sister-in-laws and their girlfriends) ended up randomly making orange blossom and sage madelaines and then coconut biscotti. Whilst dunking said biscotti and drinking PG Tips, the following conversation happened:
"Did you get to the part where he forces her to give him a blowjob?"
"Wait, how does he force her?"
"Oh. Just wait. It`s amazing."
"No really though, how do you force that? Wouldn`t you just... take a bite out of life, if the situation was that desperate?"

Has anyone noticed that the actor for Jon Snow in Game of Thrones must have practiced as well? He sounded just like Sean Bean in the 9th episode.
