That's what I watched this afternoon...my Blu-ray copy also took long enough to load that I thought something was wrong, but then it worked okay. Stuttered a couple of times while watching it, though.

Kick-Ass is great fun, just not for the faint of heart or easily weirded out/offended. :D

Forgot to mention last weekend that I watched Clash of the Titans. What a snoozefest. I'm so glad I didn't waste money by going to see it in the theater. I guess Ralph Fiennes in particular just wanted the paycheck, he was like Voldemort-lite as Hades.

Avatar

Despite my being a big fan of James Cameron's movies and Avatar appearing to be my cup of tea, I could muster up absolutely no enthusiasm to go see it in the theater. A lot of that also had to do with the 3D thing, which I am NOT a fan of.

So all of that, combined with the massive hype and success behind the movie, probably led to my completely underwhelmed response to it. Yes, it was visually stunning (even though I got tired of being led to believe that Pandora is The Blacklight Planet), but I found it to be a long and boring journey. I simply cannot count myself among this movie's fans. :\

Haha! Poirot and Boon were my late night staples as a child. I wonder what that says about me... :uhoh

I wonder if anyone can help me identify the episode/story, my memory of it is very vague and while I'll use spoiler tags, I'm not sure how much of a spoiler it is, but I remember being horrified by it when I was little: Poirot and a few others, maybe just one, are in a big old house and he's unravelling a mystery of some description, probably a murder, and as he does, a woman looks out the window and sees this shadowy figure walking across the field right towards the house - I don't remember the significance of it, whether it was the murderer or someone out for revenge, but in my mind the scene was heavy with tension and menace.

Undoubtedly, in my head, the memory of it got worse and worse, I remember this awfully heavy breathing, a black shadow striding towards the camera at night, it was the stuff of nightmares, but I daresay if I saw it now, it would be pretty laughable. Maybe I should just cling fondly to my old traumatising memory... :uhoh

Been paid now so £50 to get it fixed is not a problem. Sony won't admit it's a design flaw because it affects less than a certain percentage of PS3's, but it's been determines that it's due to the lead-free solder used under EU legislation cracking over time.
