The tropics are active again. It's been bone dry recently, including rainfall around here, which is a bummer for us stormchasers.

But anyways, Invest 97L, which has been tracked for several days, is now in the Bahamas and has a Code Red (70%) chance of development into a Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm today. Aircraft Recon will be taking a look into the system later today, as it tracks for a landfall on South or Central Florida by Saturday.

Invest 98L popped up overnight in the Bay of Campeche, and already has a Code Orange (50%) chance of development into a named system as it heads for landfall in Mexico sometime within the next two days.

Sat at the British Library, opposite a four-faced, four-story book case built inside a glass tower that's bigger than most houses. I was minding my own business... then one of the sections of the book case RETRACTED BACKWARDS, and a guy wandered across to get one of the books out.

Turns out that each section of the book case is in climate controlled conditions, monitored for temperature and humidity, to score the vast collection of books gathered together by George III.

Got a couple of items we're watching right now in the Atlantic Basin.

First and foremost, Invest 94L is continuing to get better organized in the Gulf of Mexico. The approx location of the center of circulation is 100 miles WSW of Naples, FL, and the system is moving to the WNW at the current time. Dry air is presently the only thing inhibiting development, but some of that is being shoved away by the massive area of circulation. NHC currently has development placed at Code Red for 60% probability, and if it does form, current models place a landfall at either LA or TX, depending on how strong the storm becomes. If it does form, not matter how strong it becomes, it will definitly be a flooding threat because of how large the system is.

The second feature is Invest 93L out in the Atlantic. It has been struggling quite some time to form, but dry air and shear keeps pushing the convection away from the CoC.

I've attached a visible Satellite Image that shows the two systems in question. Red circle indicates how big the circulation is around the two systems, blue circle indicates the center of circulation, and yellow area indicates dry air that keeps impinging the development of these systems.
