Was forced to stop at a yellow light this morning, by a car smaller than the purse I carry. Was stuck behind said vehicle for several miles, until it rear ended a delivery truck that pulled ahead of it. Got out to make sure no one was hurt and both people had cell phones to call for help/towing, and noticed a sticker on the little car.

Actually laughed at the woman as I went back to my car, and barely restrained myself from telling her it served her right. As she wasn't hurt save for her busted car, I don't feel the least amount of guilt.

Hehehe... I remember, when I used to go to Turkey with my folks for the summer vacations, we'd spend six weeks on this campsite on the south coast. Every few weeks there'd be a visit from the "Rotel" (a bus with bed bunks in it and a kitchen in the back, and I guess they had seats somewhere hidden in there, too) full of middle-aged British people. The bus would stop, and immediately anything up to 40 extremely white skinned people would swarm out with collapsible chairs, books and sun-lotion, and five minutes later you'd see them all lined up at the small strip of rocky beach, stripped down to their bathing gear, their white skin liberally covered in lotion, reading a book in the searing midday heat while everyone else would shun direct sunlight and stay in the shade....
Usually by the evening these unfortunate souls would wander back to their bus to line up for dinner, and we'd be breaking out in fits of mad giggles because they were all a fine shade of crimson at the front, and their backsides still an even white. There'd be no end of groaning and complaining in the line, because of all the sunburnt skin. The rest of their stay (which was 3 days, I think) we wouldn't see them any more, except on the way to the bathrooms...

I wait until 8:15 and the first period is over. I give up and head to my car, pay for my parking (which was a total waste of 20 bucks), and start driving. No sooner do I get on the highway (less than five minutes after leaving), then I get a text message -

I think I may have inadvertently traumatized my daughter for life.

My 28th birthday was yesterday and as a treat our family went over to San Francisco and walked around the piers for awhile. Since she's only three, we made a note of a few of the more graphic exhibits, mainly a couple depicting executions (though in a rather mechanically naive way that is more humorous than horrorous ) as ones we might need to be careful about.
