GRRM said on his notablog that when she auditioned they had women who acted like Brienne and one who WAS Brienne. I'm sure with the right clothes and such she's going to be perfect. Plus she's super duper tall and flat chested.

^^So far my only complaint is Ser Rodrig (the man-at-arms at Winterfell). I always imagined him more like a skinny grandpa than like a barrel with fur.
With all the casting info coming in lately I kind of miss 3 roles no one seems to be thinking about right now. The 2 Reeds and Reek really get me excited lately but I think this is because of A Dance With Dragons.

Isn't it nominated for 13 Emmy awards in total? I'm not familiar with how many categories there are but 13 sounds like a lot?

Nonso Anozie will play Xaro Xhoan Daxos a wealthy merchant who takes in Daenerys, the members of her khalasar (the Dothraki that stuck with her after the death of husband Khal Drogo), and her knight, Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glenn), and becomes an adviser of sorts. Coincidentally, Nonso actually stars as Artus in “Conan The Barbarian,” alongside Jason Momoa.

And the casting news keeps coming: Winter is Coming gets the scoop on Jaqen H’Ghar, the mysterious Lorathi prisoner that’s among Yoren’s recruits for the Night’s Watch. He was (sort of) glimpsed last season, as a shrouded and hooded figure sitting silently in a cage.
According to WiC, Jaqen will be played by German actor Tom Wlaschiha, who’s made a number of appearances in German film and television, and has since branched out into international productions, including films such as Valkyrie (with the show’s Melisandre, Carice van Houten!)

The Syrio lives on as a faceless man theory? You do know that faceless men change their faces, so every time Jaqen changes his face he'll be played by a different actor, right?
Plus that theory is rubbish anyway. Syrio is dead, or it doesn't matter. He's not Jaqen.

Today I had a nice chat with Julian Glover about game of thrones. His role as grand maester pycell and how shocked he was when he read the script for episode 9. Good times.
He signed my book boxset with Sean Bean on it... Now I need to stalk some more actors from the show since there is still plenty of space on this box.
Oh and he asked me not to tell him when and if he dies.

A 'first look' teaser featuring footage from season two of Game of Thrones has debuted.
Broadcaster HBO released the two-minute clip on Sunday evening (November 20).
The video features fleetings glimpses of cast members - including Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Emmy award winner Peter Dinklage and new additions such as Natalie Dormer - at work.
It also shows members of the production team including DB Weiss and David Benioff discussing their approach to the new series.

I'm only as far as episode 2, so I haven't read anything else in the thread for fear of spoilers... but I just wanted to let the GM know that I've been doing my homework. :mneh
Captain Incest is a massive douche... but the Imp is awesome. I have the urge to punch that nancy exile Prince Malfoy... and is it me, or is it deeply sinister that you find out the only word Conan knows is 'no', right before he rapes his knew wife? O_O

You're obviously not doing a very good job - I made it past the Wall and have been cosied up in King's Landing for years! :uhoh
I haven't seen Age of Heroes yet; but it's got Danny Dyer and Sean Bean in, and they were pretty epic in Outlaw. It's about 30 Commando, which was an intelligence-gathering unit formed during the Second World War by Ian Fleming (as in the James Bond author) while he was working for Naval Intelligence.
Don't ask how I know that. I honestly don't have a clue: the information is just in my brain, and keeps falling out. ^_^;

Random Guy: "Perhaps you'd like to change into something more appropriate?"
Ned Stark: *removes gloves*
:lol
Oh, Ned. :love
This series is awesome; but it most definately seems geared to making Sean Bean seem like even more of a baddass. :3
Edit:
Holy crap - being a badass is genetic. Jon Snow is awesome! :eee
Edit 2:
If we ever visit Alfonso again in Dark Banana, I'm not going to be able to stop myself from imagining baby Stark's sword fighting teacher. :lol
Edit 3:
"The next time you raise a hand to me will be the last time you have hands." :ohno
It seems like the Stark family awesomeness is sexually transmitted - Lady Stark was a bit of a badass in the last episode I watched (#4). I'm finding it hard to keep tabs on who I'm not meant to like, though. The King is being an asshole lately; and he's being an asshole to Jaime and his sister, which is making me feel a little bit sorry for the blondies.
All I know for sure is that I don't want either Prince Douchelord or the Dragonpansy to inherit the throne. King Robert is like Henry VIII... he's fat, rude, and has no morals; but he's relatively harmless. I'm worried that the Douchelord will go all King Edward if they let him anywhere near the epic melty sword chair. :ohno
Edit 4:
Just realised that Arya is left-handed. Yay for backwards people in stuff! :eee

BOOK SPOILER!
I doubt that the fall of Winterfell will be in this season since no Reek was casted ...or maybe they just did not remember his name. It is more likely that this plotline will be moved into season 3 and Winterfell will just be sacked by Theon at the end of episode 10.

I've no idea how they are going to start fitting these massive books into single seasons. So much goes on! From the (Comic-con?)
