History

Built at the Valc VII Shipyards and commissioned 1.233 ABY, the Vindictive was under the command of Imperial Captain Sujj Kalson, a human male from Corellia. She served under Captain Kalson for nearly seven years, and she was part of the Battle of Endor. After the fateful battle, she saw relatively no action in the Valc sector, which was far removed from the core. Nonetheless, her crew was highly trained, courtesy of Captain Kalson's emphasis on competence, a slogan the decorated the durasteel corridors of the ship for many years. In eight ABY, Captain Kalson mysteriously disappeared, and no one has been able to find out what happened. The ship was at the Valc VII drydocks for some repairs, and when the repairs were finished, the captain was gone. Soon after, Moff Joran Greth promoted an Imperial captain by the name of Tyberius Saye to Line Captain, and gave him the Vindictive as his personal flagship. Soon after Saye's appointment, the Vindictive was seeing action again. After following a trail started in a battle in sector 1866, Saye and the Vindictive, along with Saye's battle group, arrived in the Parshoone system, where a Rebel fleet was stationed. After a devastating battle, in which the only surviving Rebel ship was half destroyed, Saye and Greth managed to find the Courageous, where once again Saye and the Vindictive lead the way in the assault. Outnumbered, Saye's battlegroup held off their destruction long enough for Scythe squadron to arrive, and the Vindictive greatly helped in the survival of the small fleet, covering the weaker ships and firing salvo after salvo at the Rebel fleet. Still, the Vindictive took on major damage, which was later repaired, and she was back in action, commanded once again by Saye, who had been promoted to Commodore.
