Vittore Montegue is a bounty hunter who specialises in targets with "supernatural" traits, such as shapeshifters, amphibians, energy beings, Force sensitives, Anzati, Felacatians, Lupines, and similar. He also occasionally hunts naturally monstrous creatures such as rancors and krayt dragons when they pose a threat to civilian settlements. Unlike most bounty hunters, Vittore will actively seek targets based on newsreels and incident reports, often bringing him into conflict and cooperation with local law enforcement. At times he has been forced to collect on more mundane bounties in order to cover his expenses.
Currently, Vittore Montegue is "on retainer" for Emelie Shadowstar, whose life he saved from a Force sensitive Clawdite assassin. Vittore lives and travels aboard the Coromon Headhunter, a Baudo-class star yacht. His pride and joy is a vintage BTL-B Y-Wing starfighter, which he calls the Hunter II. Vittore is particularly fond of referring to himself as Captain, despite the fact that he has a crew of only one.

Vittore was born on Cularin during the Clone Wars. His father was a Senate Commando, though he retired shortly after the War. Hugo had met Vittore's mother when his Commando unit was sent to investigate the reappearance of Cularin, which had vanished without a trace ten years earlier, and a whirlwind romance had ensued. The two married soon after and lived together on Coruscant, but Emaryn returned to Cularin during the war so their son would be born "at home".
When Vittore's younger brother was only six months old, his secretly Force sensitive mother succumbed to the Dark Side and attacked his father, who was forced to kill her in self defense. That started Hugo Montegue's life-long xenophobic obsession with the "supernatural": an obsession he passed onto his children.
