IND WIN @ JAX - Colts looking for revenge, Jaguars falling apart.
Sunday, Nov 11
NYG WIN @ CIN - It's been a rough stretch for Cincinnati, and the Giants will be looking to rebound from their loss against the Steelers.
TEN @ MIA WIN - Even against a team that surrendered 51 points in all three phases last week, the Dolphins defense needs to improve.
DET WIN @ MIN - Ponder's numbers were scary bad last week.
BUF @ NE WIN - Despite some flaws, New England once more looks poised to take the East with no hint of resistance.
ATL WIN @ NO - This is a tempting upset pick because I feel like the Falcons are overachieving and the Saints are underachieving.
SD @ TB WIN - These two teams are tough to get a read on, but I get the idea the Bucs are on the rise and the Chargers are in decline.
DEN WIN @ CAR - Denver's starting to look like a playoff team.
OAK WIN @ BAL - I'll go ahead and admit to wishful thinking on this one, but Baltimore's inconsistency will catch up to them sooner or later.
NYJ @ SEA WIN - No way are the Jets the most overrated team in the league. That would mean there are people who think they're good.
STL @ SF WIN - The Rams are not ready for primetime.
DAL WIN @ PHI - Either team is capable of throwing this one away, but I think the Cowboys will feast on a turnover-prone Vick.
HOU @ CHI WIN - Possible Super Bowl preview - I think these are the two best teams in each conference. Very tough to call.
Monday, Nov 12
KC @ PIT WIN - Next step for Pittsburgh is to show that they can dispose of an inferior team like they should.

Wow, Bengals blew out the Giants, didn't see that one coming. Looks like the Saints will hold on to beat the Falcons in what looked like a close one. Also wasn't expecting the 'Fins to get manhandled by the Titans.

1. My picks pretty much sucked this weekend.
2. How did we decide to deal with ties? Can't remember since the last time was 4 years ago.

Well, if anybody picked a tie in the 49ers-Rams game, they get it right. If not, they don't.
I have a feeling this is another rough week for a lot of people. At least the Steelers should supply some sanity against the Chiefs.
I hope so, anyway.

I don't think it would count as a win or a loss. It would count as a tie, but those things are so rare that I don't think we should start tallying scores as 0-0-0 instead of 0-0.

Ah, but the object of a pick'em is to correctly predict the outcome of games. For any given game, three outcomes are possible: Team A wins, Team B wins, or there's a tie. We've always had the option to pick ties - it's just that they're so rare it would be a statistically stupid pick.
We actually had this conversation when it happened in 2008, and I did have the same initial idea of putting an "and 1" at the end of everybody's score, but as Liam Jinn so efficiently put it, "Nobody picked that game right, it's a loss "
Plus I don't want to mess with the total number of games. This keeps our numbers consistent with other years.

I can imagine how that could get out of hand though. Imagine next week someone comes up a prediction of; ATL at ARI (Game Cancelled due to Hurricane Rupe-Hall).
