NFL Pick 'em 2012: Week 6 (THURSDAY GAME)

Not sure anyone expected the Browns or the Jets to win either.

I picked the Jets! Actually, I didn't think it was much of a longshot. Yes, the Jets are bad, but the Colts are coming off a 2-14 season, and they were playing on the road with a rookie quarterback. It was a game the Jets are more than capable of losing, but it was also a serious opportunity for them to finally put something together.

Also, bad news for the Ravens, and for the entire league. Lardarius Webb and Ray Lewis both left the Cowboys game with serious injuries, and now the Ravens have announced that both will be out for the remainder of the season. That's bad enough in Webb's case, but you have to wonder if the 37-year-old Lewis will be coming back next year. As a lifelong Steelers fan, Lewis has been the object of both my frustration and admiration, and he is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats. It would be a genuine shame to see his career end on an injury.

Good grief, this week was absolutely brutal for us! Granted, maybe we shouldn't feel too bad since, just like us, only two teams in the entire AFC own a winning record this week. This season has been wild, wooly, and unpredictable, even without the influence of the replacement refs.

Holy crap! I didn't watch and keep a tally this week, so I'm sort of surprised at how I did...dang. That's not as atrocious as I had anticipated.

I knew it was going to be bad. Definitely just picking to try and stay above .500 for the year.
