    National Board of Review

    The first in the 3 month parade of critics and industry awards. The NBR usually has at least 3 of the five the Academy nominated for BP in their top 10(sometimes four or all 5). The film that is #1 is almost always nominated. Anyways , this is the full list copied and pasted from another board.

    Jamie Foxx and Annette Bening named Best Actor and Best Actress


    New York, NY, December 1, 2004 - The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures named Finding Neverland 2004 Best Film of the Year. The film imagines how the famous writer, J.M. Barrie, derived the inspiration for his legendary play Peter Pan.

    The following honorees will be presented with awards at the annual gala on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in New York City.

    cool I think Finding Neverland will get nominated. Did they show who else got nominated for some of the actor awards? I was curious if Natalie Portman was up for Closer. I know she is considered a favorite to be nominated for best supporting actress.

    They don't have nominations per se...they just get around a table and debate and vote on everything. From what I recall, the NBR is made up of only a dozen or so film scholars(or whatever). They don't affect the race as show what movies seem to have support.
