flying a starship is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put smashball cards in the spokes!

Character Background
- Member of a large immediate and extended family with close ties until the Death Star wiped out all of his family save two people
- Free spirited pilot of Red Squadron until the Battle of Yavin where he was shot down and reported dead
- Floated around the galaxy until just after Endor, when he took a job piloting a light freighter and reconnected with old friends
- Became Captain of no less than three ships, and has lost two of them
Raw Material
- Ben is something of a folk hero to Alderaani for his and his Uncle's part in retrieving a priceless artefact of Alderaan's history left undoctored by Imperial propagandists
- Ben is non-confrontational and will almost always seek to avoid a fight or run away if he's caught in one. He's a mega-coward.
- He sees himself as a sane man in an insane galaxy
- Is actually a fair shot with a pistol
- Dislikes the Alliance and Empire and almost any authority, and this dislike has led him to make poor decisions in the past
- Has been tortured and nearly killed several times
- Is uncomfortable around Jedi, Imperial Knights, or any Force Users and will avoid them if he knows they are an adept
- Ben knows a lot of people everywhere in the galaxy. If you need something, Ben probably knows someone who can help
- Through his Uncle, Ben is directly connected to the Starkillers that provoked the Treaty that has forced events into their current paths
- Only two members of his family survived the destruction of Alderaan: his Uncle Denton, and his niece, Esther
- His uncle died during the mission to retrieve the Alderaani artefact, and he has only recently been made aware of his niece's existence
- Over time, his personality is changing from affable and cowardly to fearful and reckless
Plot Ideas
- Ben is roped into doing a dirty job for dirty people for lots of money
- Ben is forced into helping people in danger and thereby putting himself and his ship in danger
- Ben is used as a scapegoat for a larger scheme
- Someone else falls in love with Ben only for him to remain awkwardly oblivious
- Someone poses as a long lost family member to con him
- Suspicious that Ben holds information on the Starkillers, Imperial, Alliance, and other groups hunt him down for answers
Ben has a happy day with no danger or conflict or stress Ahahaha no
Existing Relationships
- Taataani Meorrrei: Senator and CEO of a huge company, Ben used to work for her. Both have complicated nostalgic feelings for each other.
- Lyanie Quez: Ben's oldest surviving friend, a mechanic, engineer, and generally nice person.
- Cirrsseeto Quez: Husband of Lyanie, Captain of Novgorod, Alliance man, and one of the people Ben fears the most.
- Palara Iscandar: A twi'lek Imperial Knight, Palara and Ben have a close friendship predicated on leaving the past alone and focusing on the present, meaning there are no questions asked on information not given.
- Shuvin Undhi: Teenage Togruta, Ben's mechanic aboard Alderaan.
- Cerie Moreau: Third member of Alderaan's dashing crew, ex(?) con-artist and generally laid back team-mate whom Ben finds refreshingly sane.
- Sindy: Her name's not really Sindy, but it's long, complicated, and too much for Ben. An ambitious young woman Ben helped find the Jedi.
- Halajin Rabeak: Jedi frozen in carbonite for hundreds of years or something like that. A libido that makes Shuvin's pale in comparison. Ben unfroze him while taking Sindy to the Jedi.
- Eluna Thals: A droid that can kill someone in less than a second; and usually a hot redhead.
Current Plots
- Spacebound and Down: Ben should NEVER be made a God-King.
- Float On: Maybe things will get heavy but we'll all float on okay.
- La Fille Pouvait Aimer Sans Coeur: Sometimes people just have horrible judgement when it comes to love.
- In This Present State of Grace: You can never hold on to happiness; you can only hope it stays with you and wave if it leaves.
- A Series of Ridiculous Events: If you are interested in stories with logical and sane endings, you would be better off reading some other thread. In this thread, not only is there no sane or reasonable ending, there is no reasonable or sane beginning and very few logical things in the middle.
