Description:

In a response to the debacle at Endor, CEC decided it was time to introduce an upgraded version of it's old gunship, to be suitable for fleet service to the Empire, primary in a role as an anti-starfighter support ship. With the expensive cost of the Lancer Frigate, and it's lack of an anti-ship role, the CEC team decided to make their ship both cheap and have a good anti-capital ship capability.

To this end they teamed up with Kuat Drive Yards. CEC would build the hulls and propulsion, while KDY would manufacture the weapons and shields for the vessels. So far the partnership has proven both praticle and valuable.

A order for forty of these gunships was placed one year and six months after Endor, with the first batch of ten completing at CEC momentarily.
